so funny story today. i have a massive amount of bruises on my legs and i have a gigantic one on my forearm. i have on my back, my legs, my hip, my arms, and even 1 on my neck right now...most are healing but still kinda red. so my teachers have been noticing and have no idea what lax is anyways. they think im being abused. but i tell them its nothing and they go with it. so i go out to lunch today and apparently some man or woman saw me and knew me and was really concerned....so concerned that she called the police to my house around 1215 when i was leaving again to go back to school and wanted to put me in foster care (though im 16 i am considered "underage"). they wanted to know where my parents were...they thought my mom and dad (i dont have a dad now, he passed in 2000 and i had to tell them that) were hitting me. well my mom is definetely not strong enough to hurt me and definetely doesnt hit me, so i had to explain that i was a lax goalie. they didnt believe that i could have that many bruises and serious bruises from a sport....then i showed them the insane lax goalies clip on youtube and had to show them that a ball caused the bruises by showing that a few of them were lax ball-sized. it took me 1 hr to convince them and the foster care investigators....needless to say i was late for my next class (ap american history) and my teacher was pissed, then i told him the story.....then at like 145 my guidance counselor called me and told me to go home for the rest of the day....she said i deserved it.

has anyone had like any similar or crazy stories?

Lol, thats one wild story. How do you get so many bruises? It's only fall ball right now.

Everytime somebody sees one of my bruises, they punch it.

 Lol, for us non-goalies, it's like a reflex to seeing your bruise.

I had mass bruises on my legs from box and had a teacher think i got off hitting myself in the legs. He was so far from wrong that i decided to show him a clip of my team on my ipod that specifically had me getting ripped in the shin like 4 times fightng for a loosie.

the insane goalies clip....and the back....well, its like on my shoulder blade area.....i was in a game and i went for a 1 on 1 save and it rebounded and it went into a kids stick while i was still down and he fired it and i rolled over and got my shoulder up and then got hit on the back of ym shoulder blade...

http://www.lax.com/bimages/1784/79

i rolled over into that sorta position and it went of my shoulder blade....sweet save though....

for a big kid i move around a lot and im still rusty from not playing that much over the summer so im using my body like i did in hockey, so im still adjusting back to goal....i had the same issue last year. the bruises dont hurt but i just bruise easily i guess..

Haha, i'm not a goalie but something like this happened to me today. I have tons of bruises and a few abrasions on my arm from checks and turf, and all but one of my teachers pulled me aside and asked if my 'rents abused me. It was great.

Best part is, one of the teachers who pulled me aside was my lax coach last year.

No thats never happened but I luv the fact that social services spends all this time on the ppl that paly sports saying they get abused but less on the kids who really do and can't tell any one and no one says a thing about them.

on the shin.....in no time the blood was pulled down and the whole lower leg
was black, little blue & yellow for good measure.......the whole school had to
see "the leg"....lot of cute girls were digging it...ah to be young...chicks
STILL dig scars!

yea, my wrestlin coach, who is also my math teacher and girls varsity lax coach at my school, saw the bruise on my arm last night, the one on my upper arm. it was healin nice, then the guy i was wrestlin with kept grabbin it, though i cant blame him since this is wrestling, and in the mornin it swelled up and it was a deep blue and black and brownish red. my teachers saw it again and were like "wtf!!?!?!".

Yep, one of the goalies I coached a few years ago was asked about her bruises by a very concerned doctor. I was so proud- I used to joke with my pacifist/vegan ex-girlfriend that people would think she was abusing me too.
