my friend bought a matrix of lacrosse.com (NOT lax.com). it was so wide it stunk. my nitrous was as wide as it. the pinch stunk on it, it was pretty ugly around the scoop, and it was disappointing

Yeah, the 1st generation Matrix was really pinched. Just enough room to fit the width of the ball. When mine was new with new, stiff mesh inside, I could actually pick up a ball with the back of the head (like I was taking a faceoff) and it would stay lodged there.

Don't know why they changed it.

they changed it bc so many ppl were getting illegal stick penalties in games due to the fact that the ball would often stick when it was strung.

i have a 1st gen matrix and i restrung it so that it wouldnt be illegal but a couple days before the season ended last year the head snapped. if the ball gets stuck sometimes it helps if you wet the mesh

im so stupid. 2 years ago i was offered a trade for my blade for i believe a first gen. It was my first year playin an didnt know much. I saw it, put a ball in it, the ball sat on the lowr rail, so i didnt trade. I mguessing it wasa first gen.

If you want a first gen. matrix then look at non-lacrosse stores.
Lax stores stock the latest, but if you go to a local play it again or mc sports they may have a few first gens still in stock

if its not first gen, thiers no point in getting a matrix in my opinion. the other generations pinch is wider than a nitrous, so thiers no other reason to get a matrix
