You may wish to search Go Ask Alice!: Fitness & Nutrition (http://www.goaskalice.columbia.edu/Cat3-full.html#11) to see if that subject has been covered. This, for example (http://www.goaskalice.columbia.edu/3153.html), is a similar topic, as is this (http://www.goaskalice.columbia.edu/0818.html).

There are few things you can do, you can squeeze a tennis ball, or any other type of squishy ball that with repetitive squeezes uses the muscles in your forearm which will build up some strength in your wrists. There are specific squishy objects actually meant for building up your wrist but I don't believe they are worth it.
Another good method which really works best with two hands (don't know if you could do it with only one hand). You take a weight (like one of the ones you put on a bar) put a rope through the middle hole tie a knot so the rope doesn't go back through. Then at the other end of the rope tie the rope around a small cylinder bar. Lay the weight on the floor and hold the bar up about waist height with your arms extended outward. Then twist the bar with your hands as fast as you can wrapping all the rope around the bar till you get the weight up next to your hands, (hope that wasn't to confusing). Create a workout with that, sets, reps how many times a week etc.. It will help a decent amount.

cut a small slit in a tennis ball and put a bunch of pennies in it, tape the hole if you need to. play catch with it and your wrists will get stronger
