We started conditioning last week and it sucks. My coach hired this guy to teach us speed an agility, which is really useful, but it is tough. So far i have pulled my right quadand another part of my right leg that I can't identify. One good thing is that we decided on the design for our custom gloves. They are gonna look tight. Anyone else started yet?

its horrible. my coach last year cared more if we were in good shape than if we could play lacrosse. It was just miserable.

Our team had good stick skills, but we didn't condition, so everyone was dead before the first half ended. That's why we ended our season like 3-11.

What types of speed and agility drills you douy hate the most?

Mine are the inch worms. Basically we start in pushup position; then, we inch your feetup to where our hands are. Then, we walk our hands out and do it again. We probably do this for about 20 or thirty yards or so. They make me hurt so much.

we do everything on our own because most kids play other sports so they have to work out with those teams, but usualy there is a group of 5-8 guys that go to the guy in school right after we're done with classes, then we all go and play a pick-up game for an hour or so.

It's best in the rain. You get real wet. Then you get real muddy going for a fumble recovery on the quads. Then you get kicked out of the gym when you were trying to just watch the volleyball game (god, I love those) just because you tracked in some mud and you are dripping in the stands. Then you are probably the first person to use the showers in the locker room since the 80s.

I love conditioning. I work as hard as I can because I know I'll be laughing when the long pole burns by all the middies to score. And it will feel oh so good.

As the guy who is teaching us speed and agility says, "Running 2 miles teaches you to run slow[sic]."

eh, i dont mind it much. i run xcntry so im doing high mileage and speed workouts, so the 3.1 time trial our coach gave us wasnt too hard [he wanted to see how out of shape everyone was]. then starting in late nov. or dec. i will bring my stick on my 3-4 mile runs, always thought about it, never went through, it seems like a good idea.

however, i dont like the weightlifting and stuff like that, even though i know i should be doing it, i just dont.

yea my coach was physco literally....the easy stuff was 3 days a week 2 mile run after practice...then saturday morning 4 mile run at 7 am and if you didnt make it in certain times you had 10 100 yard sprints...then we sprinted so much in practice...i remember one practice for no reason we did 37 sprints at the end...and their not easy ones..if one person jogs you just start all over at 1...and thats just the beginning of it

i dont mind conditioning anymore. i saw the pay off first hand. we had to run as punishment because im in my schools jv football team football p.e. class thing and i lapped about half the team including the starters. so i guess its worth it because the footballs guys cant say anything about lax being a ***** sport when we're lapping em

I understand why it's needed to be done, but I personally hate conditioning because it can drain a person after a hard practice.

Well, I check the e-mail he sent me and we have Warren Anderson of Rehab Plus as our trainer.

i hate conditioning but try not to complain because i know it helps. i try to run 3-4 miles everyday on my own. i gotta start doing sprints tho. last year our lax team did so much conditioning, directly or indirectly. we got to practice, jog the long way to the field, a good 1/2 mile. if one person forgot something EVERYONE runs back to get it. then we do pre-exahustion(sp?). after that is some full field sprints and must sprint in line drills. then a normal 3 hour practice wich of course involves running. after words is beasts, suicides and the like. then its indian runs. and if we need to be punished, wich was too frequent for my taste, we ran circuts of about 1 1/2 mile, i think the most we had to do at once was 4.

Oh god.... now I dont want to play spring season. We do thirty minute runs in P.E, in which I get about four miles in, but I am sweating like no other at the end. Come to think of it, we dont do a lot of plain running in practices, just a lot of drills. That's why I love fall and summer, you can train at home however you want to.

I love running.Other then that it sucks. We have a drill called 4 quarters, you run 1/4 of the field then you start to do push-ups for like 1 min. then you run to the mid line and start doin crunches, then you go another 1/4 and you do mountain climbers and then you run to the end line and do paratroopers. Then we do all that 5 or 6 times(4quarters with overtimes).I can bearly feel my body after that...

unless u ski or suttin like that-DO NOT WISH FOR SNOW. or rain. both of wich make it very hard to play lacrosse. its the one thing i hate about NY.

We started conditioning the 2nd week of school. 3 days a week. It blows. We have too many fat kids on the team. We run 2 miles at the beginnging of each practice and the fat kids always walk when they think the trainer isn't watching them. Little do they know that he hides in the bushes like perv watching them. If one peson is caught walking the whole team has to do 3 extra figure 8's, double suicides, and 4 follow the leaders. Let's just say,we haven't had a "fun" practice yet.

^^haha...i tell u now: there will be no fun practices unless ur undefeated have uber cool coaches and its ur last practice and ur next oponent sucks and ur garunteed win. needless to say not often.

Ya. Last year was really screwed up for the team. They only played like 8 games. They only won 1 game, but it was against the undefeated rich-boy private school, so that's gota mean something...right? Anyways, what I meant about the there no being any fun practices is that the porko's have never ran an entire lap(2 miles) yet.
