I'm just starting, and I don't really understand when you're supposed to pop up and go back up the field, where to rotate when somebody cuts in, etc.
Can you help explain to this to me? Ideally, I'd like a diagram with arrows pointing where to go, but I know that's asking a lot.

ok first off most teams havethis set up
1
NET
2 4 3
5 6
if the ball starts at 1 the team passes to left, 1,2,5,6,3,..1. if the team passes to the right it goes to 1,3,6,5,2,..1. during/ before each pass the person whos about to recieve the ball either trys to get open for a play or looks for another teamate so he can feed the ball to him right away. this is basic lax.
now if you want to get more difficult..
2 and 3 stay higher than normal and 5 and 6 cut back and forth. to cut is to run across the field trying to get a pass or to get free of you Dman.
i hope i helped you. if you still can get it just post again
edit: think that the diagram is alot more spread out

Thanks for the help guys, but I think we've been using a 1-3-2 formation, and we haven't really been running plays yet (newby team).
I think I kindof figured it out. If somebody up top cuts down, and you're on the crease, you just pop out to replace where he was right? And if somebody goes left to where you are, you go right to replace where he was, right?
