Okay, so I bought my Ipod about a year and a half ago, and luckily my dad was smart enough to get the 2 year insurance plan on it. So just recently I haven't been able to get any sound out of the right ear phone. I looked it up and apparently it's a problem with the headphone jack, and I'd have to send it in to get fixed. Now I've heard that most of the time Apple doesn't even bother with fixing the Ipod, they just send you a new one, especially if it's an older model, which with the release of the new Ipods, mine is. My question is, if I were to send it in, and they did just replace it, would the replacment be the same model? or would I be able to get something different? Because I've got the 30Gb model, and thats way more space than I'll ever need. If anyone has an answer to this, or has been in the same situation, please let me know what you did, and how this was taken care of. thanks

If they do just replace it and they no longer have the model you had, they will replace it with a newer/upgraded model. Do yourself a favor and don't ask them to do anything like that, it's a sure fire way to not have it happen.

same exact thing happened to mine, they replaced it with the older version of the 30gb ipod video.
edit: also they swapped it out right in the store in 15 minutes i didn't have to ship it out to the company or anything.

That's what I figured. I wasn't gonna plan on asking, but I was just wondering if that was th case

No, I didn't get the plan with Apple, so really now that I think of it, Apple would have nothing to do with it.
