I consider the activities of terrorists in Iraq are not as much aimed at coalition forces but more personally against President Bush. International terrorism has as its goal to prevent the election of President Bush to a second term. If they achieve that goal, then that will give international terrorism a new impulse and extra power. (emphasis added) – Vladimir Putin

However he also doesn't support Bush.
From the same article,"Still, Putin didn't say which candidate he favored in the Nov. 2 election. 'We unconditionally respect any choice of the American people,' he said."

Actually, i could see Islamic terrorists wanting Bush, because he will just act, sometimes without thinking, and it will come to a point where the entire arab world hates the U.S.

READ THE WHOLE THING.
Also: Read the Osama Bin Laden letter to the states. They will not stop until our ENTIRE nation is Islamic and operating under Islamic law.
What better than to have a president that the entire Islamic nation hates?

This is by far one of the stupidest things I've ever seen. Al Quaida wants bush to be president because it'll get all the islamic countries to hate us? Some guy in Iran makes a comment about Bush not going after them, and that makes Kerry a better choice? You've got to be kidding....Iran KNOWS Kerry won't go after them. And if he does, when our troops get home, he'll start badmouthing them and shake hands with the Iranian delegates.
Human rights? Pha! whatever...terrorism is a whole new ball game. Terrorist-sponsering states....one at a time. If this crap worked on you, you shouldn't be allowed to vote. Don't forget about how WE'RE CURRENTLY WORKING THROUGH THE UN (you liberals must love that) to get sanctions placed against 'em. Someone in Iran must've taken psyc 101...that reverse psychology is working wonders.
Let's trust the word of a terrorist regime instead of the leader of Russia, who's taking steps against muslim terrorists....great idea!

to be quite honest, I dont trust much of what comes out of the mouths of our foreign leaders... or the current domestic one. the thing with politicians is, they all lie. they'll say one thing and do another. so, i cant trust anything until i see it when it comes to politicians.

But you're willing to trust the judgment of the UN? They're nothing but fancy politicians. You want us to wait for the alliance of our allies? They're also fancy politicians.

The UN is not just fancy politicians...it's fancy politicians mired in a unrelenting bureaucracy which makes it impossible to do anything of real meaning.

im not sayin that we should whole heartedly do everything the UN says. I just think we should actually listen to their advice, take it into consideration, and put some faith in it. because believe it or not, the UN is not out to get us... at least they werent until bush gave em the cold shoulder and told em to go screw themselves...

I trust the UN far more than I trust this present administration. The UN cares about global repercussions and doesnt go blindly invading countrys.

The aims of the US are not necessarily the aims of the UN. I prefer never the twain meeting, personally. They lack the teeth to do what they want without a large body of US troops yet they so casually refuse to support us when we need it.

1. Some would say our war in Iraq IS about global repercussions.
2. Some would say we didn't go blindly.
Your trust for the UN over the US government speaks volumes about the system you wish to instill here. No wonder the socialist dogma dripping from your posts :-)

I don't think the UN represents the collective views of all the nations, nor was that it's purpose. It was meant to bring nations together so that another world war wouldn't happen. The thought that what the UN says is any sort of concensus or that it has any real meaning is bogus. I'd imagine that you have to know what goes on behind the scenes and how the major players are influencing it....no doubt that we do.
Also, to always do what the UN says would make us the weakest nation on earth...remember, they aren't some great worldwide organization. They represent the viewpoints of other countries, some rivals, with their own self-interests to serve.

Oh, I totally agree with you here, but as far as Iraq goes, we handled our situation with the UN completely wrong.
