i was looking at a goalie "tips" kind of vid and it said that if u step out but 1 foot is on the line, you are still considered in the crease, can anyoen verify that?

Unholy is right, you are still considered in the crease with one foot out and one foot on the line. I got called for staying in the crease for over 4 seconds. I thought it was a bad call because my foot was on the line, but I searched and found out it qualifies as in the crease.

also you cant run out of the crease to pick up a gb then run back in essentially for protection.

no but you can run out of the crease grab a GB and put the ball into the crease like on the ground and then step back into the crease and retain another 4 seconds.....

that sounds like too much work lol.

you dont really need to go out to pick up many ground balls. keep one foot in the crease and reach with your stick to try to rake it in the crease, if it is too far for that then your middies/dpoles should be getting it.

i didnt mean like go after every ground ball that you can get... this could also be a big help when your 4 secs. of crease time is up and you get caught out of the net with an attackmen on you and you cant get a pass off.... you could do that....

how do you not get a pass off if you have someone on you, that means some one else is open

You are giving the rest of his team too much credit. You mean there should be someone open. However that isn't always the case. Maybe the only guy "open" is at the other end or side of the field. Not an easy pass.

I'm pretty sure that back and forth business will still get an in and out call, simply because you are pretty much doing that, except putting the ball down for a second. If the ref sees you do it on purpose he may make the call

under ILF rules you are allowed to "pass " the ball one time on your own net (from behind). then you can pick it up and new 4 sec. start ...
