I'm a long time field player (D/LSM) but I'm going to play indoor this winter for the first time. Still playing mostly D and some M... but all short stick. Since I'm new to indoor lax, any advice on gear? Will I want to wear more/different gear than I do for outdoor? Since I play D outdoor, I don't wear rib pads and wear pretty thin SP (I removed the slash guards below the shoulder caps). Any advice would be great.

I would put the shoulder caps back on the pads and you might want to get some cheap rib pads for like 20 dollars. Worth it.

So guys do wear rib pads even on D in box? Same rib pads as field, or do I need special box ones?

use the bicep pads on the shoulder pads, your gonna need a lot of upper body protection, believe me if you don't, your gunna get lit up. GET RIB PADS, box is alot more aggressive and you don't wanna risk your internal organs for a little mobility. if you have d arm pads, don't use them get some regular box arm guards like the ones covered in plastic. for gloves, kinda depends on the ones you have now. and make sure your not using a aluminum shaft.

Unless you're playing legitimate box lacrosse (with smaller nets and cross checking and all that) you won't need any different gear.

All I know its that it's 'field style: rink/box' as opposed to 'field style: open field turf' in the league description.

if it's in a rink like a hockey rink, its probably box like with 4'x4' goals.
