Does Anyone else do this i enjoy it it occurs at hardcore shows its really cool to watch and its pretty good excersise

If it's a band I like, I won't go into the pit, I'd rather watch the performance than mosh. If it's a band I dislike, I still watch for the most part (the performance, I hate two stepping). I usually go in for the breakdown, but I don't dance like that.

I also hate the new scene stuff with a burning passion.

hahahhaha i used to listen to stuff like that until i discovered the beauty of reggae and jam bands. i never went in to pits cause im a small kid and there were always diesel black people or like huge dudes with beards and arms bigger than my leg

arg, old emo kids figuring out emo music sucks and trying to become straight edge. dont you know throwdown is just making money of the hardcore scene. they are so cheesy :banghead:

wow i just watched the video.....first of all he sucks at 2 step and second of all hes doing it to the wrong music....thats just horrible and sad.

ok that was pretty lame.

i enjoy Moshing, but not 2 stepping. thats REALLY Lame. I went to a huge concert last year at PNC Bank in NJ. There were 3 main pits in the grass section and when StoneSour played "Get inside" everybody literally got inside...the pits. It was ridiculous.

o and my friend in in a thrash metal band, so me and 3 other guys started mosh pits for them. It was sick.

But yea, moshing is a "dance". its meant to show your enthusiam for the band, but most people do it to have an escuse to truck people.

yeah i 2 step ill admit hes pretty brutal but its the only video were it shows it without heads in the way lax n roll try it before you knock it its actually pretty hard that goes for the rest fo you haters throwdown and mosh pits are differnt moshing is pushing people this is liek a dance and it is extremely hard to get good at it if your not good you get trucked.

hahaha no offense...but i always make fun of the kids that do this stuff. when i go in a pit, i actually dance, and ive got moves baby. but this throwdown junk is for loser scene / hXc kids.

bretmac - the first you posted was a song from my favorite band, "the devil wears prada", it's called, modify the pronounciation. just thought i'd point that out, :chuckle:
laxgoalie - that was lamb of god's laid to rest, pretty damn brutal, i personally hate being in the "armpit" of the wall of death, i prefer to be in the middle of one of the sides.
i didnt bother watching the rest of the videos though, i'll get around to it.



ok first of all, there is a fine line between moshing/2-stepping/and throwdowns.
i go to shows here in SD and i have seen and experienced pretty much every single one of them.
and for all of you saying that it's for "loser emo kids who can't dance", than i wanna see you ATTEMPT to get into a pit, and survive.

there are unspoken rules about pits, and not knowing them can result in you getting seriously hurt. but the number one rule is, "if someone falls down, help them up". so it's not something to be afraid of; it's actually quite fun, and it's a way to get out agression.

for all, if you don't like the hardcore scene, then at least respect what other people do and like. i dont go around making fun of you square-dancers do i?

every pit ive been in, ive seen this. its a solid rule.

also, im not hating on the hardcore/scene scene, i just hate the way they dance. moshing is alright, but the throwdown/2steppin' i dislike.

When I first clicked on the link, I thought it would be about Ciara's or Unk's songs.
After watching the 2step/throwdown videos, I think those dances are a little comical. Very different from what I have ever seen, would never do them.

they may seem comical and pointless when youre by yourself, but if you are in an actual pit, while everyone is doing it at once, it is actually quite exhilarating. the combination of all different moves by different people make for an exciting show. i dont think you can truely describe what it's like to be in a pit in words, its better experienced than explained.

Its only awesome if dont to the right music too. I was at a show (TDWP/SKSK/Emery/Chiodos) a few weeks ago, and these 2 guys were swing dancing/throwing down during one of SKSK's PIANO SOLOS :devil:
it made me really mad





For you guys that do throwdown, do you prefer hardcore dancing or hardcore dance "fights"
(dancing is just the moves, fights is where you actually hit the other people)

if those are some of your favorite bands then dont hardcore dance...thank you. if you want to hardcore dance you might want to do it to hardcore not melodic pop punk hardcore emo crud. yes emo, i said it, and i do think Scary Kids Scaring Kids, Emery, and Chiodos are all emo. if they arent emo then they are stupid "scene" music. watch and listen to the videos i posted, that is real hardcore and hardcore dancing should only be done during hardcore shows (or at school dances to mess around with people)

I like other bands, my music choice isn't just limited to 3 bands. And I was pointing out that I liked some bands that somebody else on TLF likes.

I saw the same show and it seems like those bands bring out some inexperienced show folk.

if you wanna see a good video of some of this stuff, go on youtube and find the "don't fake the punk" videos by the band kids like us. mass amounts of people 2-stepping in someone's driveway or something. it's intense.
