Start --> All Programs --> PC Help & Tools --> HP System Recovery

Then I think is the destructive recovery when it gives you different recovery options

Depends on what operating system you're running. If you have a system restore point on XP, it'll be much easier.

This really isn't the right kind of site for this kind of advice, try googling for a tech help forum.

no...but be careful with dban. it completely wipes your hdd. but if you know a little about pcs there is no problem. type in boot and nuke or dban in google and research it.

I think I may have a system restore cd for windows 2000. I'll check.

Use my method, all HP computers come with the system wipe function. Much safer than a 3rd party program.

Yeah if its really bad (w/e is requiring you to restore the settings) I think most pc's come with a restore disk, but unless you back up your files, it wipes your hard drive clean. Kinda sucks, cause when I did it I had to reinstall my games and stuff.

No disk needed, here is a s/s. When you click it says do you want to go along with it, press yes. Then go to the second option.http://img256.imageshack.us/img256/5173/13597524ze4.png
