im gonna have to say tiger woods, he is probably the most consistant. he will definatly beat beat the record of majors won(i think it's set at 19?) He may not be the best "Athlete" per se, but he is incredible at what he does.

either roger federer or woods. these two athletes will define our generation more so than LT or ovechkin ever will. in fact, who is ovechkin?

federer and woods could be the best players that have ever played tennis and golf, respectively.

Ronaldinho.

Ovechkin isn't even the best player in his respective sport, Crosby is.

On the same note, are we going to define best player in sport as who has the most/best potential? Or who is currently the best? Or the best last year? Because last year it would be LT, this year AP has the most potential of any athlete.

Maybe it's A-Rod.

Maybe, it's Kevin Garnett.

Ronaldinho.

yes, or David Beckham.

Roger or Tiger because they both dominate their sports and there has never been anyone like them in the history of tennis and golf respectively.

Tiger Woods. He dominates golf more than Federer dominates tennis in my opinion.

People will remember Tiger and Roger because they are individual athletes and excel beyond that had been considered great in the past.

Maybe it's A-Rod.

Maybe, it's Kevin Garnett.

Crosby being the best is arguable, Zetterberg has to be mentioned this year.

And Kevin Garnett is not the best player in the Nba, so I don't really know where you are going with the whole "Not the best player in his sport".

Are you asking who is best at his or her respective sport?

If so it's Tiger or Federer

Tom Brady is currently absolutely dominating...

Ronaldinho.

The thing about Tom Brady is that half the quarterbacks in the NFL could be putting up phenomenal numbers(maybe not where Brady is at now, but phenomenal nonetheless) with the Patriots line, Billicheck, and the talent around him.

Tiger Woods. He's going to break every winning record...

If we are talking about sports history, Jim Brown hands down.

Currently - Kobe Bryant. It takes a lot of athleticsm to be that good at basketball. Especially scoring 40+ on the Lakers.

Most Dominant player - Federer

Lance Armstrong

I know, I know, Lance overcame multiple forms of cancer, won the Tour 7 times, and I definatley have worlds of respect for him, but doesn't anyone else think it's a little fishy that somebody who recieves testosterone shots won that many times? Maybe I'm just cynical.

Anyways, I'm gonna go with tiger. He's a beast. He's so good that we aren't even surprised when he dominates. He's so good that his goodness became so routine we don't even reckognize his goodness. We've forgot how beastly he is, BECAUSE of his beastlyness! It's madness!

u cant say that. They have 2 different types of games. ovech hits and plays tough and hard all game. Crosby is good, but he always wines to the reffs. I think Ovechkin is better then crosby by a little

It's arguable. How many athletes were professional in two sports? And did well in both of them..

If it weren't for a coach he'd have been the only athlete to ever play in two professional games in the same day.

You really want to say a rookie is the best player in all of sports? I mean, hell yeah, he has the potential to be the best, reporters have said LT wasn't any where near his level his rookie year, but still, he's a rookie..

Yea, anyone that is mentioned is arguable, so people can stop saying it's arguable. Ecspecialy Jagr, (whoever said him), he is good, but not the best. And if he makes things happen all the time, why do the rangers have one of the worst offenses in the league?

I'm not a Pittsburgh fan nor a Crosby fan, but I'm gonna have to say he (Crosby) is one of the best all time, and he's still very young, one could say he is (will be) one of the "greats".

Not even about points and goals...just the fact that he changed the way people played. If you look at hockey when he played nobody was doing the kind of stuff he was.

Tiger Woods. Hands down in my opinion, golf is the hardest sport in the states to go pro in, hes 8 years into his career and is on track to destroy every golf record in the PGA.
