NFHS Situation 1.2.9 says that a team can move their bench to the far side of the field if there is an obstruction and the officials say it is okay. How the heck does that make any sense? Can that team sub on the fly? Can they call for a horn from over there? :monkey:
It makes so little sense to me I can't even believe it!

Open your 2007 NFHS Rules to page 10/11 and now turn the book 180 degrees.

Yeah, 1.2.9 says 'benches'. Both teams wander over to the other side, bringing the timekeeper with them.

Ah. I read that as "the Team A benches," not "both team's benches." If they mean the second one, I don't see why they need to state that. Why wouldn't you be able to move both benches. That's like having an A.R. saying you can have the field run north-south instead of east-west if the officials say it's okay when there's no rule stating that you have to have the field run east-west.

I like the rule that states all players may wear only one shoe in a Saturday game in a month without an "R" in it's name as long as LaxRef says it is OK.
