Do you know how to do candy cane style taping? You just do that twice, and the second time you just go in the opposite direction

you go one way and then you go the other way and makes X's 2 seperate strips of tape
What I do, is cut a slit on my roll at whatever I want the thickness of it to be. Then you just stick that part on the shaft and roll it around the stick until you get to the top when you come back down. I find this method to be perfect because then I use the other half to do a candy cane at the top.
Is it not self-explanatory?

That is the same thing I did in my "mini tut" except his tape is thinner
