FYI: I know everyone's wondering about the new goggles we're all going to have to wear sooner or later, so there's a review of the Cascade Irises at Laxnation.com (courtesy or moi, but that's besides the point). Check it out girls!!!

i heard that high schoolers have to wear goggles THIS year. :[ the ncaa is mandating them now, right? oh well. my dad thinks it's outrageous that they're like $70 a piece, but they really are the only way to go, aren't they?

you either wear them or you do not play... Period. Unfortunately that's the new rule

My team here is going to use them. It really sucks. I tried convincing the varsity coach to change her mind but she was all for saying the Iris is more protective than the new Bangerz I like but I personally dont think that is the point. I've never seen or personally been hit in the eye with a ball and I think if anything it is the head that is more susceptible. So I think getting ones that are legal but allow the most vision would be best but on the other hand I do agree with her that they are more protective. They're just damn hard to use.

I'm a guy so YMMV but I took a rocket to my eye this summer and the only damage to my face was b/c my glasses cut a gash under my eye. The bone itself was fine. And like I said, this was no easy toss. That's not saying it's impossible to break the orbital, it would def suck if you did.

the goggles are unnecessary..... read the review... it explains my opinion on the matter. screw goggles, give me a helmet, pads and let me hit people.... just b/c we're girls doesn't mean we don't have aggression that would be better taken out on the feild.

Hahaha. I'm actually all for the grace and finesse...and maybe a little bit of defensive contact here or there.
these new brine goggles don't look too bad. not as much crossbar to look through, eh?
