I read that he went down with a serious looking knee injury this fall, does anyone know how bad it was and how long he'll be out for? Thanks guys.

I hear Penn State is keeping his situation really quiet.
The only thing I'd believe is whether someone knew if he had surgery or not. If he did, combined with how I heard his injury looked at Lax for Leukemia, you'd almost have to guess it was an ACL and he'd be down for the year.

With most serious ACL injuries these days, they wait 8 weeks for internal swelling to go down, and for some flexibility to return before operating. Hopefully there was not serious meniscus damage.

In my opinion, the new type of turf seems to be causing more ACL injuries due to cleats planting too deep and not giving way on hits and cuts.

its true that turf can be the cause of knee injuries. but an ACL can tear with a simple push off of the ground. my weight room coach tore his acl making a cut playing flag football on grass without cleats. he was basically just running and it popped.
