what is the difference between top string and regular nylon/shooting string.

well theres top string, which is thicker than Sidewall string and crosslace, and then theres sidewall string which usually used for mesh pockets and is stiffer than crosslace, and then theres crosslace which is used for customs and is softer than sidewall but about the same thickness. And then there shotting string which is completely different and is like shoe laces its used for adjusting the whip and hold of your pocket. i think that about covers it. if u need anymore help they have the discription of every type of string on jimalax.com

yea i knew about the cross lace and side wall, but when i went to jimalax it had topstring which i never heard of. It just had me wondering so...

its just a thicker version of crosslace, its a lot more durable, but as it says on jimalax it dosent fit in all heads sidewall holes, but you can use x-lace as well as sidewall to string your whole head with mesh

hey as long as were on the subject of topstrings... im trying to restring my eclipse with 12d. i hate doing the top string on goal heads. anyone have any pictures they can post?

search for 12d and you will get a million results. just do a goalie ex one. very easy and effective.
