Here's my first traditional on my blade. Any C+C is welcome. Not to toot my own horn but i was really happy when I was done with this cause i think it looked pretty good. I might be wrong though. Thanks!

sloppy no doubt about it, trads are tough for the first couple of times tough, if you use newer leathers its easier to get it all symetrical. if i were you, if you want that pocket to last more than a week get new lathers and restring it. on the bottem you should either tie a really tight knot, cut a hole, or do a doulbe knot

A little sloppy, but using newer leathers would certainly fix that problem as you seem to have the interlocking part down. And the side view with the ball looks too sick. Nice first try!

The only thing that's really sloppy about it is the leathers, they're older so yah, i get you guys on that. But, what else do you see that's sloppy? Oh, and everything was a little loose but i have tightened everything up since then.

Well, some of the pocket is asymmetrical (some diamonds are much larger than others). It's really not that big of a deal, but as you'll come to learn, stringers in the SDL demand absolute perfection to not critize a pocket at all.

As I said before though, it's a solid job.

You certainly don't "need" to redo it, but it would just look better with newer leathers (and probably be easier to string). But hey if you want to redo go for it (practise never hurt!), be sure to post some pics once you're done.

it couldnt have been put any better.

it's a pretty nice job, it could use some tweaking here and there though.
as said, newer leathers will help, and evening out the diamonds will make a noticeable differnce.

nice job with the trad, keep it up

I added a nylon up top and now it's perfect.

its looking good, but as others have said you need to start with new leathers.
this is essential in forming a good pocket for the head. leathers really only break in once, after that, they pretty much keep their form, no matter how you string them. its hard to reform leathers to a different pocket with out destroying them in the process. its hard to keep the diamonds symmetrical in the pocket, i've been string for 8 years and it still can get away from me.
so just try to keep those diamonds straight, and get some fresh leathers
