I was watching a re-run of the NCAA DI game with Duke vs. Hopkins, a great game. But nonetheless, do you think that Duke deserved to win, or was Hopking destined to do it all along?

I'd like to hear what you think.

Hopkins deserved to win because they scored more. plain and simple. Yeah, Duke had the terrible scandal and they made it all the way to the championship game, and it would have been nice for them to win it all and show the media that they are still strong even after the scandal hit them, but thats not how the game ended. whoever scores the most deserves to win because they worked harder.

Twice they have met in the Championship game and twice Hopkins has come out victorious by 1 point.

It's not about who deserves to win the game its about who works the hardest throughout the entire course of the game/season and the team that does that the most will come out on top.

I was hoping for Duke since it would have been nice after all the bad media but it just boiled down to whoever scores the most wins.

think about it...who really thought hopkins was gonna give them such a good game? it was amazing how hopkins pulled it together even after 3 straight losses in regular season and 6 one goal wins to win it all and rob duke once again, i know duke had that very hard semi game against cornell and hokpins skimmed by deleware but its not the point, hopkins wanted it more and they got it

i wanted duke to win after the scandal but hopkins was put on rabils back and rabil did it for them. And he will do it this year for them again.

duke is not a dynasty for lacrosse yet, although they are very good.they dont have any D1 championships, but hopkins did deserve to win that game even if the Ncaa screwed up the playoffs by putting the #1 and 2 teams in the same bracket

Hopkins played way better for the first half especially. Duke did amazing to make that comeback, especially with a major lock-down on Danowski and Greer. They couldn't get much done with so much pressure, and especially with Hopkins dominating face-offs.

I would have liked to see Duke win. I think they had the talent and probably the better team if they didn't come out so flat that game. Cornell took a lot out of them (I wish Cornell made the championships too), and its debatable if that day off Sunday made Duke come out as flat as they did.

If you look at Quinzani's final shot at the last second of the game it was probably withing 3 inches of going in. He beat the goalie to the ground with his shot but it was just off the post. Just a little to the left and we would have seen an overtime where Duke could have still had a chance.

Well of course Hopkins deserved to win, if they didn't they they wouldn't have won haha duh. But over all, they are pretty evenly matched schools. i mean Duke could've won by 1 also, they didn't, but they could've and things would still be looked at the same...That they are both great teams. BUT! Hopkins SHOULD HAVE blown Duke out by like 10 goals. They were dominating face offs and they shut down Danowski-Greer for the most part. Plus they were up by i believe 9 in the first half. thye should have won by alot in the first place and good jopb for Duke just to even over come that.

Duke should have won. Peyser owned on the faceoffs and thats why they won.

Game was insane. Ross and Quinzani I believe both hit the pipes. The biggest problem though was a few times Parker McKee got stuck on Rabil. Nick O'Hara did a phenominal job on Paul the first time these teams met.

It was astrange game. Didn't anyone else notice inside 3 minutes to play Duke went up 2 men and was only behind by one. I thought, as I sat there, they will tie it right here for sure and then it is a game. Danowski hit the pipe with a blast that Jesse had no chance on and the ball rolled all the way over the midfield line. A HOP defenseman was closest as it went out of bounds. That was the end of the game. Dino had done that one other time in the regular season. Hit the pipe and the ball rolled back over the mid line and the other team got it. I think it was the regular season Cornell game that Cornell won. Talk about turning the course of the game on a fraction of an inch...
The real reason that Duke did not win is that The Lacrosse Gods said "No, you can't make the scandal go away by winning a game. That is too easy. You penance will be to come back in 2008 and try again." Such is life. No one said it would be easy.
