i think thats what they are called. I recently got two torques i was wondering the measure meants and its about 7 inches at the widest spot. but the shooter taps that flare inward there make it about 5 inches across there.

now my question is when the new rule for 2009/2010 come into play will this be able to bypass the new measurements

i know that maki but what i am saying is when gait makes new head for 2009/2010 will the shooter tabs be able to bypass the rules and give you that pinch you want, since they bypass them now

Probably, cause would it make business sense to produce new heads that are illegal? The idea is basically all new heads, and all current heads now available are illegal according to the 2010 rules. This way we will have to buy new heads again in the future just to meet the new requirements.

If they include the tabs in future designs they'll have to have discussed its legality with who ever makes the rules.

I do not believe that is true.

it was posted awhile back so the new heads may pass the 2010 rules like the Cyber Pro , Franchise but from previous threads the Xcalibur and Stiffi fail

Since every spec on every head isn't published it's hard to assume that every head on the market today is illegal. This rule was put in place to prevent the pinching modifications players do to their own sticks, not necessarily to address an epicdeic with head manufacturing. That being said recent newer sticks are being made pretty narrow.

If you pinched the throat of your stick after you bought it, odds are they are illegal now. I don't believe that all heads are being produced exactly to the minimum specs because it would limit manipulation and it's not conducive to all positions.

Second that chart that was published was not official in the below mentioned thread so don't get too excited about that yet.

I took my measuring device to the lax shop just to see what passed the 2010 test -- some do, some don't. My son's Razor Pro heads just pass, but the first measurement at 1.25 inches is very close. Basically, don't assume that a head is legal because it is new, and don't assume that it is illegal because it is old. MEASURE IT!! -- especially before you buy it. :OMG:
