So I am looking to buy a new helmet this year for skiing, and I was wondering what you guys thought. Not I have a full face pro-tec helmet. It's great, but getting small. This wouldn't be a problem except I like to listen to music while I ski, and since it's getting small, I can't do so. I can "pull off" a full face helmet, and they do look pretty badass, like this one:

http://www.giro.com/snow2008/main.html
(it's the remedy s, halfway down on the left, in red titanium)

also, on that page, I could go for one of the ones with the headphones built in, but they don't look quite as BA as the remedy.
any suggestions?

thanks

P.S. feel free to post your own helmets

You can take the earpieces out of this one, so it works as a skate helmet, too. (http://www.redprotection.com/productDetail.aspx?productid=73034)

Pro-Tec makes really good helmets. (http://www.pro-tec.net/snow/main.html)

I like the "bucket helmet" style, but you may not. Pro-Tec offers sweet full face helmets. I used to have one, and it was very comfortable.

hmm, I say no to the full face helmet, sorry man. I say giro g10 audio series or not. Just my opinion.

I have a Bern helmet, which is this,

I liked it but it's too small for me, if anyone wants to buy it, it's a medium and it's only been used once... I like the look of it and it was pretty comfortable even though it was too small.

bc you can do some serious damage with a hard fall without a helmet... I personally think you should go with what you like. I really like the one you posted. Make sure it has good protection though last year i fell in the park and i had to get a nice helicopter ride down to a hospital even with a helmet :chair:

it's just a good idea. people have been killed in accidents because they didn't wear a helmet. Any collision w/another skiier could be fatal (ie. sharp ski edge to head = bad) also if you go pretty fast or race (which I do) it's even more critical to have one.

the RED trace helmet is a good choice. Comfy, looks cool(for a helmet), and converts from snow to skate. Plus its cheap compared to others.

I would only use a full face for bmx. I think they look sweet, but dumb especially if your skiing or snowboarding. I would just get a RED helmet. That's what I'm getting this week.

Remedies are nice helmets. A kid I know has one for longboard racin' and it was pretty comfortable.

If I were you, i wouldn't get a full face though. Unless you do some intense juenks, like race or extreme park, i find it pretty unnecessary.

It's originally like $90 so maybe $60 since it used?
