For black you need to packets of black dye and if you're going to do black make sure the water is almost at a boil the whole time u dye or it will come out pruple.

your best bet to get a real nice black dye is to get another dark color, like navy blue, and dye it that color first. Then move onto the black dye. for both colors make sure the water is real hot like gopackfan said and you shouldnt have any problems at all

If you want a pitch black you want
1.Hot Hot Water
2. Dye it dark navy first
3. 2 packs of Black put it in for 1 or 2 days.
4. you got pitch black

Keep the head in the dye for 1-2 days

1-2 days is overkill, big time. A few hours should do the trick, and even that might be overkill.

Well 1. Don't keep the water heated.

Yeah what's the point of keeping it in there for more than 2 hours of the water is just going to go to room temperature?

as long as the water is super hot when you put the head in, AND it was navy blue first, one hour should do the trick but 2 hours never hurt. if for any reason you leave it in for longer it's cause you fell asleep and checked it out in the morning.
