Hey, well i just strung my new bionic, i had some trouble as first with the pocket, but they i found a great tut on here or how to make it work, and well it did.

now, since i bought some pretty hard mesh, im having trouble with getting the ball to not bounce out off the mesh when i try to catch it. i play defence, so i have a kind of mid pocket, i like the hold there and the release that comes from the mid pocket spot. i want to keep the pocket there, but it just seems to hit there, and then bounces out. i'm really not sure what to do to fix it :/

also, the stick has like now whip, like its hard to even tell that the ball was thrown, it feels weird, like it needs something there. im really not sure how to get that either. im not looking for like some real hardcore whip, i just want a tiny bit of whip so i can feel that the ball was thrown

here are some pics

it looks pretty good man. tighten the top string a lil bit. and try and stretch out your mesh a lil more next time, it'll make life easier and look better hah

tighten sidewalls and condition to help clean up the catching problem. also, tighten your shooters for more whip. make it like a staircase. tighest at top and loosest at bottom

have soft hands... gary gait can catch with a tennis racket...

as for the stick...

your topstring is kinda weird... but i can dig... at the ends on the sides, remember to go through the sidewall hole. then back up and through the mesh and through the sidewall again... to pull the mesh tight across the top.

condition and stretch your mesh... just massage in the conditioner and stretch it until it wont stretch anymore... then stretch for 5 more minutes... then rinse it out... and let it dry out... once it's dry enough that it wont drip (still most likely damp)... go and string it up.

pull those sidewalls tight. if you condition your mesh, you should be able to get a barely legal pocket with your sidewalls as tight as they can be. and i mean... so tight it hurts your fingers to tighten em any more.

Unstring, re-stretch your mesh, string everything TIGHT, and catch like you'd catch an egg.

thanks guys, i tried the shaving cream trick, it made the mesh a little softer, but it reeks now. i donno if i have enough sidewall to really restring it, but i think i can made it work, i will try conditioner and all that, and i have heard, and used the tightest at the top modo for the shooters, but its still a little weird

what i do when i catch the ball is when it is thrown to me, i try to snatch the ball. And for your whip problem, tighten the top string and maybe loosen up the other strings. test it out a couple times and see how you like it.

it might be ur catching thats making the ball pop out. well the mesh too, if the mesh is really hard u have to catch it like its an egg, pull ur stick back a bit when u catch {if u no what i mean}.

you shouldnt be snatching at the ball..you should give with it..as far as your stick restring it and condition the mesh before and make the sidewalls as tight as possible..

well the catching could be solely based on you not showing any give when you catch, but tighten up you sidewalls, that might help, and for some whip try putting the pocket part of the head under running water, you will probably have to reform the pocket but that should help with whip, or if you have two extra shooters run them up and down like trad. i did it on an AV8 and its pretty sick.

ok, so heres what happened. i took off the mesh, conditioned it and completely restrung. i havent been able to throw with it yet, but its a lot softer. i know the whole egg thing, i'v been playing lacrosse for 5 or more years so i have that down, but thanks

The best thing for your problem is play a lot of wall ball. The reason it's bouncing out is most likely that it's not worked in enough. And as said before play with soft hands.
