if u press apple, control, and option all at once and then 8, it puts all the colors as the opposte, it looks really cool, you just do the same thing to revert it.

if you hold control and scroll in with your fingers, it zooms in the screen as far as you want.

Another question to all of you mac users, I was trying to get AIM(right now I'm using iChat) however when I downloaded aim it is downloaded as AIM.bin and .bin is not supported by my computer. How do I fix this? Also whenever I open up firefox(Better then Safari!!) The little firefox Hd icon appears on my dekstop anyway to stop this?
Please don't kill me (SUper Mac N00bz0rz question) I don't know how to open the CD drive.
Last question, I saw someone with a mac hit some buttons on the keyboard and the screen turned, like a cube, anyone know how to do that?

type in on google: "AIM for Mac" and it will bring u to the page u will need
you have to drag the firefox logo into your applications folder
press the button on the top right of the keyboard to eject discs. to put a disc in, just slide it in the slit on the right of the computer.
and for the cube thing, use the remote control that came with your computer and press 'menu'

Middleton thanks, but I don't have an imac, therefore no remote, I know there is a way to do it onthe keyboard though.

no, the cube thing isn't related to front row (the menu botton on the remote) what they probably did was switch users while on the computer. it's pretty simple actually. All you have to do is create two users, and then go to the upper right corner where it has your name, and switch to another user. The screen will rotate onto the new user's account.
front row can also be brought up with command+esc.
the inversion trick is cool, ive never seen that one before.

Yea, but you have to pay :(
I know there is another way to get it, but I don't think I'm allowed to post how.
EDIT: The AIM still is not working because it downloads as aim.bin and for some reason my mac does no recognize .bin extensions

Personally I don't like open office because I'm used to word, but a lot of people swear by it.

Yeah I got that with my MacBook also. Very easy to use and 100% compatible with the actual (PC version) Microsoft Word/Office.

Another thing that might have been the cube you were talking about is VirtueDesktops (http://virtuedesktops.info/) which allows you to have multiple virtual desktop spaces. One of the transitional animations is a spinning cube.

If you have Leopard, which you must if you recently purchased your mac, then you have something called Spaces. Its like having 4 desktops at once. Its practically amazing.

Meade- Yes I do have spaces, and I have not used it yet, but finally I'm on winter break, so I will have plenty of time to play with my mac :) Yu can actually have more then 4 you can edit it in the setup. The Max is 8x8
Edit: I lied the max is 4x4. 16 desktops in total.

I would use either iChat or Adium for instant messaging, AIM for mac has pretty much been abandoned...
but if you still want it, make sure you downloaded the right thing, and if it doesnt seem supported, try opening it with an application called Stuffit Expander. It's basically the mac version of winzip.

stuffit blows. get a program called the unarchiver.

No Photoshop is not a preinstalled program on any mac, unless of course you shell out for it. Check out www.tuaw.com for some cool mac stuff, I always find good stuff on there for my macbook. Enjoy it!
Oh and as for IM, definitely download Adium, awesome program

Do you mean your friend deleted it off your dock? Because if that is what he did, search "iChat" in spotlight. I would suggest either calling apple (if you have apple care) or searching for it on www.apple.com/downloads (http://www.apple.com/downloads)

i dont think they have it. you can insert the os x disk the computer came with redownload it from there though.
I just figured I would post this here for anybody who may be interested in it.... I have 1gb of nanya macbook memory available. This is the kind that comes in the macbook, genuine apple memory. I just replaced it with 2gb, so now I'm just looking to unload it fairly cheap for someone who wants to upgrade from 512 (stock macbook RAM). upgrading ram, for those who don't know, is an easy way to get your computer to run faster. please PM me if you are interested.
