The only High Schools I know are Cary Christian, Ravenscroft, Apex, Cary, Cary Academy, Durham Academy, and Cardinal Gibbons. I don't know much about the state rankings.

pretty sure chap hill will pull it out again this year. at the chap hill 8v8 tourny, you could just see how much better chap hill was as a team than providence.

I'm from Georgia and we have a few teams that will be playing N.C. teams this spring. Which has the stronger league Private or Public? Who will win your state championship this spring? Why does your state divide the schools? It looks like when the top teams play each other the private schools win more often than they lose. Alot like Georgia, they have better coaching overall. Let me know what you think

A lot of NC public schools do not have the funding $$$ that private schools do. Not to say there aren't any public schools that have really good teams but it seems that the private schools have more affluent parents and support from their schools.
There are a couple of high schools whose Athletic Director focus more on "revenue generating" sports such as football, baseball and basketball... regardless of how popular lacrosse is becoming in NC.
I for one have been providing the training and support he needs to become a better goalie. I've even picked up a stick and started throwing a few shots at him.

I couldn't agree more. That is how my school is. I'm trying to influence my athletic director but the students at my school aren't interested. So basically I'm stuck without a HS team.

do yall think that Jon lantzey being the new coach of the durham academy lax team is gunna have any major effects for this year? or will it take a few years before we start seeing some real changes. As most of you know, Jon Lantzy was the old assistant duke lax coach until he resigned after the scandal. He is also in charge of the fusion lax stuff. I play for the team and i can't really figure out if he is going to have a major effect or not because we just had our first practice yesterday. I feel like he is gunna e a whole lot better than our old coach mike keeney

From meeting Lantzy and seeing him in the last Riptide clinic and the more recent Recruiting Seminar, I think you guys are really fortunate to have him as DA coach. He's top notch and is really championing lacrosse throughout the state. Learn all you can from him cause he's a wealth of information and technique.
Lacrosse is becoming more noticeable in the state and now with the possibility of having a professional team based here in the Triangle (MLL Barrage from Philly), yea, it may take a few years before we become a formidable state to be reckoned with, but I see progress. We definitely need more Div I teams but have great players in the Div II, III and clubs.
Wish my son could be going to DA but we deal with what we get. It's just lucky that my son has such a supportive parent in me or so I think.
Work hard, study hard and you'll reap the rewards.

I go to R.J. reynolds in Winston-Salem, and I think that, despite last years dissapointing season, we're going to place solidly within the top 25 this year.
I hope.
also in our area, our big rivals Mt. Tabor are looking pretty nasty, and southeast guilford has dark horse potential.
