How long does it usually take for a review to be approved? I sent one a couple days ago to a mod, and I haven't heard back. I'm not trying to sound impatient, I was just wondering.

Uhh... they are kinda not on the same page with this situation. I've sent reviews to be approved numerous times, and had no return. Kinda sad, cause they were really good ones that i spent a lot of time on, like really legit reviews. And i just kept getting the run around and each mod would dump it off on another cause they didn't know who should do it....
Kinda made making a review not worth it considering it happened on separate occasions like 3 times....

Well it depends on who you sent it to. Some mods are very busy. When I wrote the triumph review, I sent it to FLD and it was approved in 2 days.

Every single review is sent to all moderators for review. And I mean every single one. They are read, and if they are good, they are not forgotten. Even if we're busy, we get to them.
And they are not bounced around. I can't recall one time moderators have not been unanimous in rejecting or approving a review.
And if you really think your review hasn't been read or given justice, check the last time the moderator was on TLF (it is very possible that they have been offline for awhile), and send it to another moderator. But please, only do this if you have not seen the moderator on the forum, have checked if they have posted in the past few days, and are absolutely sure they have not read it. Do not abuse this option.
On that note, rynolax, please send me your review and I will see if it has been read over by a moderator yet.
But the vast majority, and I mean VAST, does not submit a quality review whatsoever. 99 times out of 100, they are not "legit": they do not surpass more than 4-5 sentences in description, do not provide quality pictures, do not provide any detail that cannot be explained past what can be observed in a retail store, and do not show that the user spent a reasonable amount of time with the equipment.
Our standards are high because as Inside Lacrosse receives ad revenue from every major lacrosse manufacturer in the world, we cannot afford this forum posting erroneous reviews that praise or badmouth equipment. And as a database for information, we'd rather not like users to post any information they can just sum up hastily.
Before we had this system, equipment reviews were a huge fad on TLF. Users would post reviews, clearly done hastily and poorly, just for the sake of posting information. The quality of the reviews were poor, and we drew the line when members would post up to 5-6 reviews a day with paragraph long descriptions of equipment they'd barely used. There is no benefit to these reviews, and the only way to ensure we get quality reviews is if our standards are high.

Lax101 summed up our operation quite well.
