I had a green one myself for a couple days, just playing around in the backyard with it the grip started to feel funny and basically start peeling off..the grip's way cool, but doesn't last long

Seems to me like the same exact grip on the swizzles, just on the whole shaft, and we all know how long the grip on swizzles lasts. I'd sayit is just a common thing cause the grip is applied to the shaft, and not built in.

ya i went to my local sportstop, and i found a vanadium grip. i scratched a little area under the butt cap and the grip didnt come off as much as i thought it would.

it's a ruberized coating much like a laminate. if you want permanant grip try spraying a shaft with plasti dip spay (that sounds like it would work)
yeah, i got my black one at the beginning of the season last year and the grip still hasn't worn off.

what does the grip on those feel like? Is it like sticky rubber or what?

so black grip lasts longer than colored ones?
do you think i should do something to try and prevent it, or just let it go
and Semi, its a sort of rubberized material, not like the sandpaper stuff you find on diamonds, sharkskin, etc.

The grip on my black one seemed to stay on, through general glove contact, but it doesn't survive any form of check at all!
So now it's looking like a spotty shaft, with bits of grip in places and none in others when the shaft's been checked!

If I were you, I would contact STX and ask them if you can get a new one, or just a refund. It could classify as a factory defult.

what im worried about, is im gonna wait all that time for a new one to come, possibly cut it close for my next game, and then have it happen again

you probably have warranty on it so break it and ask for the black one. I had a black one and I dont know why people here say it lasts forever. It lasted me maybe a month of practice and the grip was gone.
