So I'm in the need of some new cleats, and this is the one piece of lacrosse equipment I don't know much about. Recently I've screwed up my ankles real bad, so I need a decent amount of support. Then, the classic needs of grip, lightness, and I'd really prefer if they came in white with silver or black accents. Not a necessityhttp://www.eastbay.com/catalog/productdetail/cm--GLOBAL%20SEARCH%3A%20KEYWORD%20SEARCH/supercat--home/model_nbr--78561/sku--99020101/node--0/
though.
I've searched around and have come up with a few cleats that I'd really love some feedback on.

Any feedback is great, and I'm open to all suggestions.
Also, my ankles are pretty bad lately, i was wondering if there was any decent low profile braces that wont make me dish out that much. Thanks again.
Edit- I used to have huaraches for what its worth.

Air Zoom Super Bads don't have that much ankle support, the strap barely adds to the support. The Apocalypse offer decent support but your best bet would be the Air Zoom Blade Pro D. They come up the highest and are pretty stable. I wouldn't recomment Warrior cleats although some people love them.
As for braces, see if your trainer will tape your ankles before practices and games. If you can't get them taped, you can find low profile ankle sleeves at CVS or Walgreens.

I have some serious ankle problems too, and this past football season I played with Nike Pro D high top cleath and they were the best I had ever played with, I also wear an ankle brace too.

instead of the blade pro D, i would recommend the blade pro TD, which is molded instead of detachable, but is still really grippy. the D model is super high, like football linemen high, and dont allow a lot of mobility. i use the TD for football and lacrosse and love it. i think thats your best bet

More of a fan of detachable.
Also, I'm a change of direction middie, so I need atleast a little bit of mobility to it.

my ankles are trashed, and both have been cleaned out surgically, i wear the high version of these:

they are real leather so they will last a long time, my last pair lasted more than 10 years.
you should also go see an orthopedic surgeon. they can recommend some physical therapy that will really help too

Do you own Super Bads? If you did you'd know that is not the case, the strap is great for support, I have yet to roll my ankle in them, and I've used them for over a year, they've held up great. To be honest, I would purchase the strap if it didn't come with it, it's that great of an addition. Braces don't go into the cleat either, so I doubt they can offer the the same ammount of support.

My previous pair of cleats were Super Bads so yes, I have owned them and I don't feel that the strap added any support.

SuperBads are a joke, don't bother with them. I owned them and they are over priced and gimmicky. Look into these.

I own the apocalypse cleats and they're really nice.
-They're not THAT light but they're not heavy.
-They're realy comfy
-The ankle support is amazing though. I wear supports on both my ankles and they fit in well. However this means they can be a little wide, so you'd probably have to try them on first.
-Hold up/last long
-Grip is awesome

When my Achillies Tendonitis (I think I spelt that right!) got really bad last year I got some mid cut Burn's. They were great for supporting my ankle but they were really heavy so my ankle would hurt anyway.
My ankle has got better now and I've now got Nike Speed TD's. When I saw them they looked quite low cut so I wasn't sure if I should get them. I did and I have to say that they are more protective than the Burn's. The Speed TD's are extreamly light (compaired to the Burns they are) and come right up your Achillies.
I would also recommend that you wear an ankle support/brace as it helped me alot.
Hope this helps and your ankle gets better!

Time out -- if your ankles are bothering you on a regular basis, it's time to see a PT. Honestly, even if you have the best team trainer, they just can't give you the kind of one-on-one support that a real PT can.
Also, the PT can help identify what's causing the ankle injuries and help adjust your workouts accordingly to help build strength/reduce pain.
AND... BIG ONE... check out custom orthotics. I have had ankle pain my whole lax career, and finally my PT suggested we do custom orthotics... turned out with the proper foot support, the ankle (and knee pain) I had for years was gone!

Swlax has got it down. Go to an REI (NW US store) or a pediatrist and check out the ortotics. I personally use the brand superfeet. They have worked wonders and my lower ankle pain is gone.
Cleat wise though, I would say go for the Blades. They are really confortable and have good support. The superbads are a little gimmicky, but they are a great cleat none the less.
