Hey just wondering any crazy lacrosse ideas anyone has thought up or would like to see, so post them here. (Equipment/shafts/heads etc.)
I think theres a similar thread but it looks like starting a fresh one will get more people for the topic.
I had an idea for a new chest protector that is llike a skin tight shirt like rhino skin but for goalies???

Take a head and cut out part of the sidewalls where you want the pocket to be. Then add fiberglass to part of the sidewall to make it have more of a pinch. Then add a pulley near the sidewall (I haven't figured out this part yet) and a string near the throat. So the stick is more pinched (like illegaly) and when the ref wants to check your stick you just pull the string and it switchs to the side thats legal.
Maybe it could just slide in...it would weaken the head a ton though.

I experimented with using silicon adhesive to corrugate goalie mesh - thereby creating a true channel and eliminating rebound.
Old thread, but see:

How do you propose to hide the modification and the warping apparatus from an official?
My thought would be to rig a pneumatic plunger inside the shaft

I thought of one today, pretty crazy and i dont know if its realistic but here it goes. Inside your shaft would be a weighted ball. It would sit at the bottom of the inside of your shaft. I havent figured out how this next part would work exactly, but i could definetly figure it out. There would be a rope centered on the inside of the shaft, and the ball would slide up and down on it. When you would press a button, the ball would slide toward the head of the shaft. This would be helpful by adding weight to a shot to give you more momentum and this means a faster shot.
I dont know if the button thing would work great because you could accidently press it at the wrong time and the weight could catch you off-guard and you might lose the ball. Maybe you wouldnt even need a button but like I said I dont know If its realistic. If someone came up with it id try it out.

If it slides instead of twisting around, it would be less noticeable. Maybe have the sidewalls slanted on where it slides in, or if its on a stx with a trestle sidewall (like a Xcalibur (pinched)) then you could make it "split" where one of the treastles begins, so it would look less-noticeable.
The pneumatic plunger could be activited by the twist of the butt end (like a college tape job butt end). Do you remember the tight butt? Like that but when you twist it it activites the plunger.
I'll get a pic up of where the split would be.
Now that it slides, you wouldn't have to add the fiberglass, reducing weight, but the pneumatic plunger would be quite heavy correct?

I'd trim the sidewall to make the brake less noticable.
See how its slanted with the trestle, that would make it look like a crack.

Ive always wanted a machine that would help correct shaft bending. I am very ocd about when my longpole has the slightest bend in it. I've always thought that you could have a mold sort of thing and you would stick your shaft in it. It would heat up enough to macka a bend but not so that the shaft gets brittle. Once the shaft was heated enough the mold would press the shaft to reform it.
Or the same Idea but for heads, cause when a head is bent I can feel the difference when I craddle with it.

Well i dont know bout you guys but i hate dry mouth guards. and like i said on the other thread that was like this one, they should make a mouth guard that has a rubber tube that runs from your mouthguard up through your helmet and then to a little hose thing like when you pump up a football or basketball. but instead of pumping air, you pump water into it. then if your mouthguard gets dry, you just bite down on it and the water squirts out. once the water runs out, just pump it back up when you get back to the sidelines. Brilliant!

Lets go step by step.
1) You turn the butt on your shaft (college tape job type, like a tight butt)
2) Penumatic plunger activites and sildes the sidewall in on your head (head becomes pinched)
Then when you want it to slide back incase of a stick check you turn the butt end back, which repeats the process.

To increase the pinch, you would have to shorten the distance between the scoop and the throat.
To do this, the actuator would have to be able to draw the part of the head above the pinch down toward the throat, forcing the pinch to fold inward.
Obviously, this rig would have to be indetectable to an inspection.
I suggest the creation of a tiny tunnel within the upper rail of the head, through the pinch, to an anchor near where the throwing strings are. Then wires can be strung through the plastic and the throat into the shaft, where the actuator and it's power source reside.
Twist your butt end, the actuator pulls and your head warps, narrowing your pinch.
Twist it again, and the tension is released, so the head springs back to legal dimensions.

would it be durable during an actual game?

No. And it would be heavy and unreliable.

OK. A pinched head risks costing your team a 3 min NR penalty, which can equal 2 goals on average. It is not worth the risk, as the rewards are minimal and the bad habits such a head engenders will make you a marginal player with the 2009 heads.
Iron arms and wrists are a much more practical improvement. A 3 pound cannonball is almost exactly the dimensions of a lacrosse ball. running with a 3 pound lump of pig iron in your pocket will give you super strong stick control. It's fundamental, but it will work and it's legal.

I'm sure everyone's thought of this already, but- elastic sidewall/bottom string for better ball control and maybe even a little zip on your pass/shot.

Already patented. STX if I'm not mistaken. The goofy Brine head with the elastic band around it just made it around that one.

yea i already got that one patented too-(not the rubber to the plastic(pulse) just the elastic stringing) you can check it out on my site-

a couple of my ideas that i thought of a few years ago that i thought of happened to made.i thought of a composite shaft reinforced with titanium so it can be as strong as a ti shaft but it wouldnt dent, but scorpion made the shaft. i actually sugested this to harrow, they must have felt stupid for taking my idea into consideration.
also another great idea i thought of was to make lacrosse gloves but have the grip of football gloves

ive thought about this, but in the rain football gloves have no grip and this would be worsened when trying to hold your stick.
