Are there gonna be posty awards for 2007, or was that like a one time thing?

It's happened more than once, but it doesn't look like it's not gonna happen this year, since '07 is over...I think it's because I don't post as much, so there aren't enough nominees...which reminds me, I thought that you mods used those nominee lists for future mods, I'm still waiting.

They'll probably have them at some point, although I doubt I would win, so it doesn't really matter to me.

There have been a ton of issues with the Posty Awards, and I need to confer with IL and my TLF team to get this situation put in better order. I know its not fair to those who excelled this year, but if we can get a better foundation underneith the Postys, and make them not just a hokey, cheeky, fun little thing we do in December. If we can make the Postys a legitimate thing for '08, you'll see why taking a year off is so important to making this annual contest, and TLF as a whole, so much more fun.

So, lets keep our fingers crossed, and hope we can work something out to make the Postys an annual thing (again), and make them the talk of the online lacrosse world!

Also, the 06 winners didnt get our prizes, award, recognition, whatever from IL either. Id say chances on postys coming back are slim to none.

Actually, IL loves the Postys, but the problem is that communication about them is virtually slim to none. We need to be better organized. Until we are, the awards are shelved. But, they could be back for '08...

They were/are a form of superlatives or awards we did twice over the past few years. There were categories such as Equipment Guru, Stringing Guru, TLF MVP, Rookie of the Year, Most Informative etc. Nominations were made by the Mod staff and then the finalists were voted upon and announced by the staff following a rigorous selection process and an even more rigorous reminding people to vote process. They were rather fun, but as Hooligan pointed out, the ability to do something for the winners has made it difficult to hold up on our end, which stinks. We'd love to do them again so hopefully for 08 we'll figure out a way to bring them back.

In October '06 I quit my cushy government job of 18 years and went into running a private recreation center as a business...so...I have been off these forums for relatively quite a while...

Talk about time warp...I come back, and I'm still "reigning" rookie of the year?

hooyah!

Maybe I can do something for the sport good enough to make the posty nominees for next year, and keep the streak alive.
