The 2008 season is almost here and this is just to see how your team will be and who is going to win state. I know wisconsin isnt at the same level as other states yet so dont comment if your from another state unless you have played some wisconsin teams.

Marquette will be good since they only graduated like 1 starter and very few seniors total. Also, arrowhead won state easily last year and should be good this year too.

Arrowhead lost several players from their state championship team... however their JV was very good to say the least. Would have finished in the top half of the varsity conf. Marquette will be good once again since they have a good core group returning from a pretty good team. Eastside still has that one stud player, and KM could be a surprise team, if they learn how to play as a team. They were a team dominated by juniors (last year) and have a lot of underclassman who played very well last year. Their JV team like Arrowhead's was also quite good, and they will have more expirence since this will be their second year.
Heritage Christian, and Oconomowoc are also two new varsity teams to the MALL.

The state tourny will probably be roughly the same teams as last year, Middleton, S.P., Arrowhead, Appleton... i dont think Marq will. Verona, KM, Waunakee could all have a shot. Do any of the conf. other than the MALL have any new teams?

i think kenosha will be sick this year...just kidding.
in all honesty this is how i think MAYLA may end up. *(excluding my team, you guys can decide that)
1.Marquette-Several returners, solid offernse with Gephardt. Will score points.
2.Arrowhead-Need i say more. They have 1,336,290 players.
3.Eastside-Joe Botichelli is a major threat. Their weakness will him being shut down.
4.USM-They showed signs last year. Have one of the larger teams in the conference but do they know the game yet?
5.Brookfield-They lost a few but return a decent attack line and a couple middies. Wont finish any better than last season.
6.North Shore-If Joe Brennan (LSM) is still there they may be closer to the top.
7.Heritage Christian-First year with Varsity team. May beat Kenosha but that prob. it.
8.Kensosha-Annually takes the Award for Wisconsin's worst team. Doesnt llok any better this season for the United.
Any new teams (Waukesha,Oconomowoc) will be in the bottom obviously.

1. Arrowhead - will be good as always.
2. Kettle Moraine – their program grew over night. They now will have two JV, and a Varsity – A, and a Varsity – B team from the great numbers. KM has over 56 juniors and seniors coming out this year, not to mention the sophomores, and freshman that will be on varsity. KM returns 16 varsity players, and also had a very strong JV team, which clearly didn’t graduate anyone. Note: KM has more players out for their varsity La Crosse team than they had players for their Varsity football team.
3. Marquette – does have Gephardt, who I thought was good, but couldn’t carry the team. Their JV teams weren’t good either, they had an all right team last year, but Arrowhead again will reign supreme. There will happen to be a battle for second place, and maybe one of those teams can cause an upset over arrowhead.
4. Eastside – did quite well with one player, but teams will focus more on him, and will only have to stop him. Easier said than done, but I don’t believe Eastside will be as good as last year.
5. USM – Return some key players, but I don’t think they will be as athletic as Arrowhead, KM, or Marquette.
6. North Shore – I thought had one of the best goalies in the conf. If not the best. I played him and he did very well against us. Arrowhead had a streaky goalie with the best Defense in the state in front of him. North shore also has a decent attack that I played, but that would carry them to the top of the conference but they will probably play some competitive games vs. the better teams.
7. Kettle Moraine – B, they basically will be a good JV team. KM has a lot of seniors coming out this year who haven’t played before, and the schools idea is that all seniors are on varsity. To let those 10 or so new seniors play on varsity and still have the best players on Varsity they made two teams. Also their sheer numbers forced them to have two JV teams (that I believe will be split evenly.)
8. Brookfield – wasn’t that good at the JV or Varsity level last year, thus giving me reason to think they won’t be that much better this year.
9. Kenosha – Always one of the worst teams in the conf, and in the state. But, their experience thought not the winning kind will still carry them ahead of new teams such as Heritage Christian and Oconomowoc.
10. Oconomowoc – Though they’ve never had any level of La Crosse before I believe they will be more athletic than Heritage, thus could squeak out a win or two.
11. Heritage Christian – First year at the varsity level. They had a JV team, that didn’t win a game last year, and in the tournament they forfeited their game to arrowhead. I don’t believe they will be able to win a game, unless they find some non-conference opponent who is even worse. They were small, slow, and didn’t have skills that could make me think otherwise. I hope they prove me wrong, but looking at who is returning and who how they did last year, things aren’t looking up.

Hey Guys,
Do any of you have teammates that are going to UW-Milwaukee next year? I'm the president/captain here and im trying to find all of the incoming freshmen. Talk to your teammates and let them know we have a team.

i can only speak on behalf of one team, that being my alma-mater. i dont think there has been a better time to make a charge for the state title for Marquette than this year. they return all 11 starters to the field this year, including all 4 captains. the senior leadership was present a year ago when marquette only had 1 impact player from the class of 2007, this group of seniors know how to get the job done. Garret Fields has been the best LSM in the state over the past year and he will continue to dominate the position. Dan Myers has a sick left and is fast enough to beat any defender. Gebhard will be a heavy impact player for marquette at attack, the kid has a knack for the game and has a strong motivation to grow as a player - he's got nowhere to go but up. Tony Morien and Tom Casper anchor the midfield with enough quality fo/go experience that takes 4 years on varsity to develop. the defense is as physical as it is deep. Expect heads to roll on coma-slides.
the only question marquette has to answer is: "how bad do i want it". if they are able to do that and are unified in their reply, then there is no stopping them.
arrowhead will be good, but you guys lost every single starter to graduation and there is a HUGE difference between playing lacrosse at the JV level and the Varsity level.
Eastside is Boticelli(sp), 'nuff said.
