Well i hate to make a thread in here about something this simple but here it goes. Im trying to restring my torque but i can connect the mesh because the hole where i would start my topstring isnt large enough.
Ive tried alot of things but it isnt working.

Really melt the tip of the sidewall string (let it catch on fire), then get some needle nose pliers and squeeze it to a flat disk at the top. Cut the sides off so it forms a point, then melt those solid (usually I end up with a little non-melted string in the center, and cutting it reveals that)
Or, you could just use one of the slightly farther down large rectangular holes.

have you tried a needle? Take a larger needle and jam it in to the string then push it through the hole. It usually works for me but I have a needle that is about two times the size of a sewing needle.

Yeah, my dad's an aborist and he splices ropes sometimes so he has a few really big needles.

I actually just strung up a Torque last night and I have another to do today... try sticking something through the hole to make it a bit bigger before you put the string through. something like a pen tip or the tip of a pair of scissors. just make the hole a little bigger and it should slide right through.

idk specifically for a torque but for my head i usually take a small drill bit and bore the hole out a little bit, im not sure how much this weakens the head but ive never had the hole break on me so i can't think too much. just remember dont overdo it or you will risk that hole breaking on you

I've done the drill thing a few times - I'd suggest trying it if nothing else occurs to you.
Don't use that really tiny hole, use the one directly next to it (a rectangle). I've always strung my torques like that. It's positioned at where a normal topstring hole on a different head would be anyways.

cut off the melted part of the string. push the cover of the string back, pull the inside string and cut like an inch off. then push the cover of the string forward and melt it. this will make the tip of the string really thin

i don't understand what's wrong with the larger holes, that's what i have used ever since i got my torque

get a phillip head screw driver and work it through the hole and it will make it larger
