The Paul Dawson we all know is a goalie for Brampton, brother of Danerous Dan Dawson and was drafted 7th overall in 2006 by San Jose. Last year he saw a bit of action but usually eing the third stringer behind Cosmo and Bold.
... but if you look at the SJ website you will notice something, Mr. Dawson is a defenceman. At first I thought this was a typo but #2 isn't a very goalie-ish number and tonight it even showed on the official gamesheet that he was dressed but not as one of the two goalies. He recorded a fight, a shot, and a loosie while playing out.
It says on his SJ profile that he wants to make the transition to defense from goalie. Now what made him give up this position especially when he was quite good. YOu don't usually hear of pro's changing postitions especially goalies.
