this isnt a biggie or anything, but just in case you havent heard, the NCAA now requires a stick check before the FO for the faceoff guy. So, this means no mre illegal sticks on faceoffs.

Is this taking effect next season, or right now?

yes it's only for faceoff guys. Even if the ball gets stuck in the back of the stick, it doesnt make the stick illegal, you can still use it. If it gets stuck on a faceoff you just lose posession.

Well then the article must be wrong because it qutoes saying “if at any point, the ball becomes stuck in the front or back of the crosse, there shall be an immediate whistle and the ball shall be awarded to the opposing team.”

im no expert, but what i think he meant was that if you reached up to catch the ball and made the mistake of having your crosse backwards and the ball gets stuck... then they wont take the stick out of the game, only give possesion to other team.

I agree with what you said LatinBabe, laxmiddie made it sound like its just for the faceoff.

This just isn't true. LAST year, they wanted us to do at least a partial stick check--head dimensions--before the opening face and during some other faceoffs during the game, but they've thrown out that mechanic this year. As several people have pointed out, they've also adjusted things so that if the ball becomes stuck in the stick, it goes to the other team immediately. (You used to have 4 seconds to get the ball unstuck and keep playing, I think.)
