Hello TLF i was just wondeirng what all the Ohioans thought about the highschool lacrosse subject. i am interested in what people are thinking about particularly the Division 2 teams. Hawken is the school im interested in, any thoughts?? How will US bethis year?? topics such as this, feel free to say whatever. NO RULES, rivalries welcome.

ehh No clue about D2, I'm playing for St. Ed's and this'll be our last year in the Club division, the up to D1. We should be decent, but we probably wont win states or anything.

Haha no, not really, I'm only a sophomore, but I see him in the halls quite a bit. I can't remember if we play them or not. our coach went over the schedule a while ago. I'm not sure, I'll find out tomorrow though because off season conditioning starts.

I dont know much about D2 but Hoover(D1) should be pretty good this year. They have alot of talent returning at attack and a great junior goalie. But im gonna take a wild guess and say that UA is winning the state title again this year.

Oh and it looks like Jackson is gonna fall to 0-6 against Hoover this year

i think if anything cincinnati moeller will give ua a good show.. they are decently stacked (the only thing im wondering about is their goalie...) but there attack line is pumped by a UDel signee and apparently another college recruit or two

one kid is a junior attack and he has supposedly talked to all the big time schools ie hopkins duke syracuse etc (not sure if this is 100% reliable, the kid is nasty though) and another kid that is a senior lsm whose brother told me he got letters from small d1 schools not sure on specific schools though

not to put down your school, but i dont think anybody from Ignatius is good enough to go to Cuse', Hopkins or Duke. Unless he got ungodly amazing in the offseason or if he transferred, we played you guys last year in the playoffs and i dont remember anybody that good. But you guys do have a good team and will be pretty good this year. Do you remember a huge hit last year in preseason at a tournament at your school?

But i think the teams that will give UA a run will be Hudson, Dublin Jerome and Moeller those teams are all usually pretty stacked with talent.

Yeah i knew that you guys had a REALLY young team last year, so you guys should give some people a run this year or next.

I was a senior last year, but i didnt play in the tournament game because of a concussion that sidelined me for more than half the season.

WRA? No way, its a pretty penny just to go to that school and most schools around them have teams like Hudson, Hawken and another a team im forgetting. But they recruit kids to play for them, like Cayle Rattcliffe from UMBC

WRA has a pipeline of recruits that come from canada such as trevor moore and corbyn tao-brambleby, who now play for bobby mo. Cayle Ratcliffe is also from Canada. I believe sometimes they pick up kids from the area, but since it's a boarding school they can recruit from where ever. I was there for a camp and there were kids from a town called Orange in Canada. They all played box, but not field and one of the kids was getting recruited by WRA.

i'm on the new Lakota East team in D1 and we play Marimont a few times. We just got our school team status and we used to be a club team combined with Lakota West under "Lakota West Lacrosse".Marimont tends to be pretty good for a D2 school. the Dublins and Upperarlington are always good, but i'm pretty sure they're both in D1.

Yeah i play for moeller right now. we're looking at mostly dealing a really stacked senior class. some real good kids in there. but out of cinci its moeller then X. and then UA for state. WRA is amazing also, but again the 5th year senior thing. but Jerome didnt even want to play us this year, so dont even bring them up for a top team in the state.

scioto used to be amazing in like 95' to 03' then it was all downhill and jerome all ready has 1 state championship div1-b and they lost to ua in 2005 for div 1 but this year we shoulg definately give ua a run for there money

hey i'm not seeing green being that good this year, i'm not seeing to much out of D2 north, My school finally got lacrosse (brecksville) i've been playing i while, i think were have something good going here, everyone's extremely athletic, quick and are defense is BIG and fast, but back to green i'm not seeing them being to great this years ill say a .600 team, will play them at the akron stadium, but if anyone's got kenston on there season don't under estimate them there pretty good for a 1st year team, they have great speed and some decent shooters.

Hey guys just wondering, what part of Ohio is lacrosse most popular? Because my sister lived in Wadsworth last year, its near Akron, and i brought my lax stuff and people looked at me like i had 2 heads.(No pun intended)

IMO the Colombus area is where lacrosse is most popular. Some of the top Ohio programs like Upper Arlington, Dublin, Worthington are all in / around Colombus. But Cincinatti and Clevland are growing fast and have a bunch of good programs ( St. X, St. Ignatius, Indian Hill, Moeller, and Sycamore). Im not suprised they don't know what it is in Akron. Never heard of any schools that have teams from there.

I saw the second half of the Lebanon (2nd year; D3?) vs. Clippard YMCA/Colerain (Club) game last week. Lebanon DOMINATED the time of possession, but only won by 2. Colerain had a good bend-but-don't-break defense & REALLY solid play in goal by starter Will Tully.

Lebanon needs to figure out how to work it inside on offense. Colerain needs to clean up its clears & figure out to keep a possession on the offensive side.

Yeah I'm from Gahanna a brand new D2 team, we've been around for about 3 years now fairly new and I'm a first year myself but we're def a lot better than last year. Next year or the year after we'll be sick compared to now cuz half our team are 2nd year sophomores.

We scrimmed Davidson recently but we did better than I thought we would haha so it's all good

Anybody wanna weigh-in on D2 R4, Southern Ohio? I play for CCD, and I can tell you, it's gonna be a fun year.
We have: CCD, Mariemont (2007 D2 Champs), Turpin, Summit, Seven Hills, Wilmington, and new additions Loveland (club) and Wyoming (first year Varsity). I think that CCD, Mariemont, Turpin and Summit will be somewhere in the top four spots, and that whoever wins that division will represent in the finals.

Does anybody other than Celtic know anything about Colerain? Never seen 'em before...

Im not so sure about that. Columbus has a few legit teams. UA is for sure one and so is kilborne. and in the south there is moeller and st.X. but Ignatius is way overrated. This weekend is going to show who the best team in Ohio is. Moeller plays UA and Kilbourne.

Westlake beat Chagrin 11-10 also at Chagrin, and play Gilmour on Friday so that should be a good D2 game also. It seems like a lot of the D2 teams are at or around the same level so it will be fun to see who comes out on top.

I will admit their are quality teams on here like Medina, Wooster, Hudson, and Sylvania, and with Minisink Valley out of NY, but they can't really prove themselves untill they play with some power houses, such as Brother Rice, Landon, G-Town Prep ect. They should be top 10 in OH, but not midwest.

I play for Wooster, we are d1. Were are 10-1 beating everyone in the north so far (St.iggy,hoover,jackson,medina,kent roosavelt) with our last home game be hudson. We have also beaten Shady Side Academy and Swickely both top 5 teams in the state of penn. with our one loss to thomas worthington. The last four games of our season are gonna be our toughest with it starting this saturday at UA. But my beef is we do not get any love in any of these fourms, whats the deal lax bros!?

i play for jackson on jv. we played St. John's, from Toledo i think, and they are the worst team i have ever seen. we beat green 10-2, pretty easy game, but we beat st. johns 17-1, and the 2nd half we weren't allowed to shoot unless we got 4 passes, and they had to be with off hand. lol

anyways, i think we play worthington killborne on friday, that should be pretty rough.

Shaker's a joke D1 team though. Yeah, our schedule really wasn't impressive at all. I'm not going to try and pretend it is. We do play Sylvania next friday though, which is our only tough game really.

The teams are garbage for the most part, except for St. Johns, who somehow lost to St. Francis. But we played two games, won the first against Perrysburg 18-3. We had a good year, beat st. eds, ignatius, U school, St. Johns, Pickerington, and a few other decent teams. We lost to AA Pioneer earlier in the season, and then Culver indiana our first game in OT.
