we may have got whipped but we had the most fun.
they scored four goals in like five minutes and thats what killed us. we kept them scoreless the third quarter.
We just had a bad day.
We can hang with the best of the state we just need to do good from the start.

zumwalt over fox???

i noticed your from fox, sorry.

But its just my personal predictions. Obviously I picked 2 huge upsets for D2 in the Final 4. But its been a a crazy year and I think it will end crazy too.

Plus I was looking at Zumwalts results and their only blemishes are a few OT losses and getting blown out twice; once to Webster (who they just returned the favor to), and once to you guys.

any predictions for saturday?
i think Sluh will win a close one. should be a good game

side-notes on all state-
grosz from parkway west defiantly deserved it after missing out last year
maple from rockhurst got screwed big time. he was defiantly one of the best attack in state. him and hoff were just on another level
i'm not sure they got the goalies right. some of the guys on there got shelled in the playoffs. i think Sluh's guy maybe should have had it

i think maple got screwed too, he was a hell of a player. I want sluh to win it but i think rockhurst is clicking at the right time...im not sure sluh can match their speed but it will be a good one no doubt....

With respect, I personally dont think Fox's coaching staff deserve this recognition. They were the only staff that stood out to me as un-professional. This is based off comments made to the referees and to other coaches/teams. However, I do congratulate their great season and they obviously coached their players well, which I'm guessing is what their basing this recognition on.

What about Div II?

Hey VVV, for coaches, I don't believe it is a popularity contest as much as it is recognition of the results. Fox fielded a very good team this season with only one loss. We did not have any problems with them during their visit to Springfield. Some others who may have earned some recognition could be Rockwood's coach who went from zero wins in 2007 to six, making the playoffs or Springfield's coach who went from one win to eight, making the playoffs.

With respect to your post,as we are each entitled to our opinions. We greatly appreciate the recognition from the other coaches in our division. This however is not what we as coaches or as a club have been about. I will be the first to admit that there have been some very dark years as a program. We have made great strides in becoming a legitimate contender and competitor. We had 7 players that participated in the Samurai program. This has proved to be a good thing. It has helped to shatter the image that the opposing team is the enemy instead of another group of talented kids competing in a sport they truly love. They shake hands and talk about the season before the game, then no matter the outcome they shake hands and wish each other well afterwards. We as coaches strive to teach our players to respect the skills and abilities of the teams we face. As a team we had less penalties than any other season in our history. And not once did we as coaches receive any bench penalties or other reprimands through the season. That is not something everyone can say.
I respect your opinion and defend your rights to them. However, I do take offense to your statement of being unprofessional. If any incident or situation has occurred through the season that seems unprofessional, I will be the first to step up to offer my sincere apologies and learn from the experience to ensure it wouldn't happen again.
Sincerely,
Michael Spink
Assistant Coach/ Warrior Lacrosse

I echo the sentiments of Mike Spink. I saw nothing in our game in Springfield with Fox to indicate they were different than any other team. They beat us on the field - legitimately. They played well without any extra on-field actions. I realize Fox has had a reputation in the past, but everyone moves on and tries to be better. They should be recognized for their excellent season and we should all get beyond the past history of any team.

heard micds has a new coach coming from maryland? They arent going to be real big next year with the loss of Rapp and Harbison on D, but Potter should get better and McCormick and Helfant are back, but the one kid Theodoro needs to turn it up a notch real ineffective last year with all the hype behind playing as a freshman he really needs to prove himself this year.
