CONGRATS TO HIM......he most definitly deserves it.
The game overall was a great entertaining game.
p.s--- did anyone see that guy after the game get arrested in the stands??...he was a young guy down by the glass not sure what happend, but next thing you see is he is in handcuffs. And while security is taking him away other fans starts cheering B.O.X B.O.X to the box to the box to the BOX BOX BOX. FUNNIEST thing.

I have to agree. Records are made to be broken. And Gait of course, is true class. I don't think that he would have a problem with his record being broken, in particular by someone as good as Tavarres.

i was at that game man the crowd went nuts, it was awesome to see
but the question is since records are made to be broken
Who will break Mr Tavares's record?
It would have been Mr. Tavares #2 but he opted out for the big payout IE the NHL. Grant has a chance, quite a few more years left.
Including playoffs here are their points-per-game and then goals-per-game excluding this season.
Gary Gait - 6.19 and 3.38
John Tavares - 6.32 and 2.99
John Grant - 6.51 and 3.21
Junior is actually on pace to break the points record and could even brake the goals record as well, if he stays healthy. You would also have to keep in mind, goalie pad size, net size and overall dillusion of the league.

Jr. could break it, but I don't know that he'll play that long. I don't know that it's that important to him.
There are many talents coming up through the Canadian system and I'm sure a few in the United States. With regards to goalies and net size, you have to remember that Canadian Senior Ball is still played in 4x4 nets. NLL nets must look alot bigger to WLA and OLA All Stars.
Josh Sanderson is on a tear, Dan Dawson is certainly no slouch, Dan Carey is barely approaching pre veteran age, The Evans Boys can certainly score. What is to come in the future of the league is yet to be seen. Remember, nobody thought Gordie Howe's records would ever be touched, then Wayne came along, the same was said about Wayne's records and then the next generation came in. If you think that you've already seen the best lacrosse you'll ever see, first go to a Mann Cup Game, then a Minto Cup Game, then a President's Cup Game, and then go to another NLL Game. You'll find the fourth a little disappointing.
There is a kid somewhere right now practicing and wearing a hole in a brick wall that will one day break John's record. I'll bet you John can't wait to watch him do it.
