Im looking at new guitars and I found this:
http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Jackson-JVX10-X-King-V?sku=512235
Is it a good guitar? I want something with a locking trem, 24 frets, body isnt a huge concern, although I do like the V shape alot.
Any advice? Sugestions? I'm not getting a guitar until the end of the school year, maby not at all, but I want to do alot of research on them so I dont end up with a bad guitar

That one looks good, especially for the price. You don't usually see 24 frets and 2 pickups. You'll usually have to rout another pickup cavity if you really want a neck pickup. I really don't like Duncan Designeds though. I'd change those out for some real Duncans or maybe active EMGs. EMGs don't have the best cleans, but they sound nice with distortion.

Eh, Jacksons aren't really anything great until you get to the higher end models. For what you described, I'd definitely check out Schecter. Check out this model:

It seems to be what you want, but it will be of much better quality.

yea, I play mostly hard rock/metal i.e Metallica, Megadeth, stuff like that
if I do get a guitar like that I will get new pickups for it
the Schecter is nice, both guitars are along the lines of what Im looking for
are ESPs good or do you have to get a high end model for real quality?
And please nobody say Gibson, I think they are way to over rated

Deffinatly go with Schecter, best quality for the price I've ever seen.
Oh and WAC, there's a lot of guitars that have 2 HBs and 24 frets. Really the only 24 fret guitars that have one pickup are the V's.
"Licensed Floyd Rose Low Profile tremolo" (on the guitar you showed) For liscensed model FRs it's really hit or miss. So many companies manufactor there own that half the liscensed models are complete crap. On the schecter that Ekajsk8er provided it has an official FR trem, meaning it's an actual Floyd Rose.
I'm guessing you play a lot of hard rock/metal from the guitar choice, the pickups in the schecter provided comes with active pickups, usually actives are higher gain and heavier distorsion pickups. (which may or may not be what you want)
Overall, I say go with the Schecter.
And please nobody say Gibson, I think they are way to over rated
Yes, they really are.
P.S. What's your price range? ESPs are very nice guitars pending the pricer you pay for them.

I'm pretty sure that the life is 3,000 hours.
Stats for an EMG 81 active:
Resonant Frequency (kHz): 2.00
Magnet Type: Ceramic/steel
Output Voltage (String): 2.0
Output Voltage (Strum): 4.5
Output Noise @ 60Hz: -91 dBV
Output Impedance: 10 kOhms
Current @ 9V: 80 microamps
Battery Life: 3,000 hours
Maximum Supply: 27V DC
That's 125 days of continous use.
Or 62.5 days with 2 pickups and one battery.
Or almost 9 weeks.
-And that's if you play it 24 hours a day.
Just unplug your guitar when not in use and you'll be fine. The batteries start using power when the plug is inserted into the output jack.
Although I don't know the stats for the pickups in that Schecter.
For Duncan Blackout active HBs (probably more like the set that comes in that schecter) the life is 1420 hours.
Or 59 days,
29 days for 2 pickups.
Or almost a month.
Once again if you were playing 24/7.
So you should be fine.

Very nice, guess that wont really be an issue, but do the pickups stop working when the batteries die, and are they hard to put in or do you just take out the pickup and plug a new one on
as for price range, since my dad will be buying it as far as weve talked about, I think 600 would be the limit he would pay, I could add up to 300 I would think so $900-$1000 roughly

The man doesn't lie. I've been doing tons and tons of research on guitars/amps over the past couple of months, and I ended up getting a Schecter Tempest. I love it. Schecters are very under rated in my opinion. They are very quality guitars. If you get a Schecter you will not be disappointed.

You don't even have to take the pickup out, you turn the guitar over to the back and unscrew the plate covering the wires. Then you simply take out the 9v battery from it's clip and put the new one in.
You'll either have one of these:

Or these:
http://www.guitarelectronics.com/product/9VB2/9Volt_Battery_BoxFlat_Mount.html
The second one you just open the box and slide the new one in.

Schecters are nice, Ive been looking at them, ESP has always been at the top of my list though, the main one ive been looking at is the Kirk Hammett Skully guitar, the super strat body and the V are my favorite
Is the only purpose of the battery to reduce hum or do they keep the pickup powered while playing

Is the only purpose of the battery to reduce hum or do they keep the pickup powered while playing The battery is to power the preamp in active pickups. You don't need a battery for passive pickups. Hum is reduced with humbuckers. The two coils cancel out some signals because both coils run in unison and are in reverse polarity.

no reason to get new humbuckers. duncan hums are really nice. i want to get duncan single coils and a duncan humbucker for my fat strat. and gibsons are excellent guitars. the priest at my high school had a beautiful acoustic gibson. seriously one of the best tones i have ever heard in an acoustic. but yeah those guitars are really along the lines of true "shredders" with those fingers of fury.

yea, I dont like Gibsons electric guitars, too many peole have them
and WAC, I know how and what humbucker work/do, i was just wondering about the batteries, I have a Typhoon(crappy guitar) right now and I put the middle and bridge pickups together to get a humbucker-esc sound
if I do get new pickups for my new guitar, Im thinking either seymor duncan Blackouts or EMG 81/85 setup
iBanez do have nice guitars, I was playing an RG Prestige I think it was at Musicstop, it sounds pretty nice, my biggest concer is the playability and the quality, along with the 24 frets and locking trem because I hate my strat trem for losing tune
