My town, wallingford, CT, isnt small, we have about 45000 people, but there is some pretty famous stuff in it. My town is Home to Choate Rosemary Hall, one of the most prestigious prep schools in the country. And during the revolutionary war George washington traveled through and stayed in a building that is now on the choate campus. And aparently we got national news coverage 5 or 6 years ago because there was a KKK leader speaking at our library. There were a bunch of protests and stuff outside and minor violence, but nothing serious(Kinda sucks when you tell people your from wallingford and they say "Oh that town with the KKK").

My town is where Joshua Chamberlain (civil war hero, little round top) is from, along with Harriet Baecher Stowe (author of Uncle Tom's Cabin). We're also one of the states most prestigious lacrosse programs.

uhm I dont really know if my town is considered "small" but we had the number one football team (high school) in the nation for like three years. The town is Hoover, Alabama. If any of you watch MTV we had our own show, two-a-days.

I actually live in the 99th biggest city in the US, by population (probably way higher up after Katrina). Plenty of famous stuff has happened here, Johnny Cash got his first real big break on the Louisiana Hayride (along with alot of other famous country singers). Apparently, we are the Hollywood of the south, a lot of big time movies are filmed here. I could go on and on. We have had some major college football players come out of here (Jacob Hester). I could go on and on, and you think someone would know where Shreveport is. But I'm guessing if you asked anyone outside of LA or NE Texas, you couldn't find anyone who could point us out on a map.

I live in Winston-Salem, NC, which isn't very small, but people never really know much about it. It's the home of Hanes Textiles, R.J. Reynolds Tobbacco, and Krispy Kreme donuts. I actually went to Hanes Middle School and now go to R.J. Reynolds High School. (if only there was a Krispy Kreme Elementary...). We've had a few Movie shoutouts (Thank You For Smoking, Junebug, Mr. Destiny, etc.) but no one seems to really know anything about the town. We also have among the worst air quality in the country and an incredibly Phallic skyscraper in the middle of downtown.

Oak Park, Ca. Not a lot of stuff happen here, but we and a couple surrounding towns are home to quite a few celebrities. A lot of movie scenes are filmed here for some reason too.
Also, the fat kid from Pick of Destiny, and the fat kid from Bad News Bears, and that new movie is close friends with my brother. He was over here yesterday.
Funniest kid in the world, hands down.
Our club lacrosse team also currently holds the state title.

i live in Lapeer michigan. it has a population of about 80000 or less.
Bob segar lived here for a while, and the guy who did the oaklahoma city bombings lived here.
Our school district sets the records for bomb threats in 1 year, and we have the highest percentage of underage drinkers in the US.
Eminim (the rapper) lived/lives in a nearby county.
The city next to me (flint) has one of the highest crime rates in the country.
ya, this area of the country is white trash.

my town summit, nj isnt really famous for anything big but the former governor of nj Jon Corzine lives here. Also the guy who does the TV show Mad Money lives in my town. We also have been to the nj state lacrosse championship like 2 times in the past 5 years or something but lost both times(I hate Delbarton).

jon corzine is still the govenor of NJ. Maybe you meant McGreevy
My town is America's greatest Family Resort. Ocean City.
And apparently during the revolutionary war a british ship tried landing in Beesley's Point, which is where I actually live, and three women fired a cannon at it to scare it away.
Abe Lincoln also vacationed in the area during the Civil War.

I remember there was a big stink here when that protest was going on too. I know a few people that went to it, for studying purposes, like teachers and what not.

Wow I can't believe that TLF have two people from Wallyworld here. WOw that is really amazing. I live right down the road in Bethany(Amity School District) and I am in Wallingford atleast 4-5 times a week, because my girlfriend currently attends Lyman Hall.
Which schools did you two go to? And college? Wow, I never thought I would find out there were not one but two people on this forum that live so close.
On another note, Breaking Benjamin is coming to the Oakdale, along with Seether and Three Days Grace. That should be a big show.
And to keep with the thread, Bethany, where I live, was rated the #1 small town to live in in Connecticut. Not really famous, but prestigious I guess.

Ice-t also grew up in summit until his parents died and danny devito boarded at oratory prep. Ritalin was also developed at the old ciba plant (now schering-plough)
And the velvet underground played their first paid concert at the summit high prom

Mooresville NC- RACE CITY USA, i hate NASCAR. We are the home of every big racing company EVER. I bump into Dale JR's mom every once in a while, she is really annoying and stuck-up. Sticks out like a sore thumb too with all the flashy stuff she wears.

My city and my highschool had the #1 girls soccer team in the nation for 2007. 3 of the 4 original members of Modest Mouse went to my school and the other goes to a school in the same district. My highschool also got the Sports Illustrated Most Athletic High School in the state award for 2006/2007 (last school year).
So I guess its primarily our highschool thats famous but it draws from the city and they both have the same name!
Turns out my town had the biggest Ku Klux Klan gathering west of the Mississippi river.

Ft. Fisher, the last battle of the civil war, is like 2 miles from my house.
Theres also some films done there, they film One Tree Hill here and they were doing a Ben Stiller movie in my high school last year. They repainted all the walls and put up fake logos for it everywhere. and no I didn't see Ben Stiller

Probably the most stereotyped southern town there is. Battles were fought here in both wars. Beautiful lowcountry areas are abundant.

Clearly voted by people that have never been to New Orleans.
My home town, Frederick Md, has a lot of history and famous people mostly centered around the civil war.
Right up the road is a famous town where nothing ever happened, Burkittsville.
