What type of pocket has the quickest release?
What type of pocket is best for face-offs?
What type of pocket is best for shooting on the run?

there is no "best pocket", its all about what you feel comfortable with. experiment with different pocket locations/shooter setups until you find one you really like

actually i think a shallow pocket would have a quicker release than a bagged out pocket. and an all rolled nylon (bumps to the outside of mesh) shooting string set up would be less whippy than an all shoe-lace shooting set up. but other than that there is nothing else but what works for you.

low/shallow pockets have the quickest release, or that one crazy pocket on e-lax, and I forgot the name.
No pocket is best for face-offs, although some are better(look at spyoptic's post below, I missed that :( ). Face-offs are all about technique and quickness.
No pocket is best for shooting on the run. Shooting on the run is all about technique and running speed.
If you want help on either of those, a pocket is NOT going to help you(unless your current one is completely messed up). If you want help with those, go to the Lacrosse Instructional forum

the only "best" pocket for faceoffs would be a pocket that collapses easy so you can efficiently pick up ground balls.
