Just got back to the hotel after watching the rougnecks sad attempt at conquering the Bandits. The drive to Calgary was a nightmare, and having the game suck was a huge dissapointment. But the big question on my mind is where was Steve Deitrich? Calgary's supposed top notch MVP goalie that was going to lead the Roughnecks to a win? On the NLL website, it says he is a last minute scratch? Does any one know what the cause was? My theory is bad weather conditions, because of -22, and snowy/icy roads, it may have just been as simple as that. But I believe his not being there was the main cause for Calgary's loss, Avery is not a starting goalie, he just simply does not have the skill and mental strength to compete with the likes of John Tavares, Cory Bomberry, and Mark Steenhuis. So, does any one know where the roughnecks number one goaltender was???

I believe the week before Dietrich was suffering from dehydration and Avery started and got the win. He only gave up about 4 goals. Avery was lost in the expansion draft and the team worked to get him back in the mix so obviously they see something in the guy. They got rid of last year's started but kept Avery in the mix because they see him as a legitimate tender.

Ya, it was Leyshon and him last year, almost sharing the net. I think they kept Avery around because the Calgary crowd likes him, he's super sociable and after every game he's down giving autographs, wether he played or not. I don't think this week was because of his dehydration, simply because of the interveiw/comments he gave on nll.com about how he was ready to play his former team. And even on the comments about the game, it said he was a last minute scratch.
