Well i just got done watching American Pie Naked Mile and during the scene where they start running the mile, you see a group of lacrosse players start running with everyone wearing Warrior Viking helmets with gloves and sticks. As people were running it was pretty much a big party with drinking and sex. Another American Pie movie i watched they had a big lacrosse scene in it. My point is that the American Pie movies are giving lacrosse players a bad name, by catagorizing them as out of control, drunk, irresponsible people. Also during these movies i didnt see any crazy parties with football helmets on or anything like that. What your opinion on this ?

The creator of American Pie played lacrosse at Harvard, so thats why they always have lacrosse players in the movies. I dont think it really gives lacrosse players a bad name because the majority of people who watch it are teenagers and i doubt they really care, and i watched it on Comedy Central too.

Funny Story. I went to Israel two years ago over the summer. I was talking to a kid my age that was staying with my group and he asked if I played any sports; I told him lacrosse. He thought for a minute and then asked, "Like from American Pie?" All I could do is say yes and laugh.

You know what they say...

Any publicity is good publicity.

The creator of American Pie graduated from the University of Michigan. He didn't even play lacrosse in high school. He went to the high school I attend now, where lacrosse is a pretty popular sport.

I read in a magazine that one of the directors or something played lacrosse at Harvard.

The creator was the one who wrote the original script and then sold it.

I think that you are blowing this wayyyyy out of proportion. Lacrosse is featured in a movie, yay thats good. and lax players generally are more wild than other sports but thats not a bad thing. You really need to lighten up man

the only thing that offends me about that movie (or the others from the unoriginal 3) is that they were made

its a movie let it go

My thoughts exactly.

It seems that everyone is so concerned that lacrosse is getting a bad reputation these days. I honestly don't see why anyone here actually cares what a bunch of people who probably have no connection to lacrosse think about this sport. Get over it.

Try watching any of the following and then see if you are still worried about the portrail (sp?) of lax vs. football in movies:

North Dallas Forty
The Longest Yard (either version)
The Program
Wildcats
Friday Night Lights

come on its american pie. its already pretty raunchy humor to start with, its not giving a bad name to lax if its in there. just another funny part to the movie.

thats what i think American pie is just humor its not like someone is going to watch it and then see the lacrosse players and think to themselves "wow lacrosse player are party animals" i mean it is just a movie not to be taken seriously
