ok so i organized practices on Sundays just so that when our first practice comes around, which is a saturday practice, we will not look as sorry.

anyways i dont know what kind of drills would work for about 13 kids. last week for our first one we just did a 6v6 but i think that we need to do more that that.

any suggestions?

can't really do much with 13 kids besides 6 on 6, you could do fast breaks, 5 on 4's etc. EMO/Man-down,1 on 1's, line drills and conditioning

do you have access to a indoor gym or is this all outdoor stuff. Inside conditioning you can do shuttle runs, cone drill work for like stop and go running, and you could do maybe like a team workout in a weight room?

we do alot of passing/catching drills, and ground balls to get back into the swing of things, nothing rediculously intense.

Check out the Coaching Forum and you can probably get a little better advice there. You can do some 2-on-2/2-on-1 loose ball drills, fast breaks, and feeds. Everything else has pretty much been mentioned.

We used to to stations. We had a wall ball station where people would work their weak hand, a roll and split dodge station and two different agility stations. Don't do anything crazy. Captains practices should also include some team building.

you can do 3-2 offense 4-3 offense and 5-4 offense, this helps with working the ball around for the O finding the open man. The offenses should be fast and the positions should be quick and lots of scoring. The D should know where to go and practice getting the sticks in the lanes, with quick slides.
If you do these do start with 3-2 and slowly work your way up to 5-4. Don't jump around randomly, you want the D guys to get a few runs in the D so they can get familur.

You can do shooting drills and 1 on 1s also.

I am a captain on my team, if i arrange something this sommer i would have a 2-3 hour practice with alot of conditioning and alot of fundamentals. do some meatgrinders mabey andhave about 45 minutes of scrimmaging or 5 on 5.

My coach arranges a box lacrosse 5 on 5 0nce a week during the summer. it really helps you form "lacrosse sense", its good to help discision making in game time situations.

we ended up doing a lot of team building. just playing around with each other. finding strengths and weaknesses. everyone got to know each other a lot better, new varsity and jv players were able to get some learning opportunities.

We started season but before we just practice our ball handling skills because when I started it had been half a year since I touched a lacrosse stick.

What have you been doing all this time then. You should be with your stick 24/7 even during the offseason. (7)
