This year I'm in a bit of a situation. I can't decide whether to play attack or midfield. I played attack last year for my team but this year I have a better chance of making a better team if I play midfield. But I'm more comfortable at attack. What would you do in my situation?

What do you mean by a better team? As in varsity compared to JV?

I always perfer middies.... you can teach a middie to play attack, but the reverse usually is not true

I think you should play whatever your comfortable with. and if you dont make the better team, who cares? i mean, at least youll get more playing time and actually be playing something that you like.

The switch from Attack to Midfield can be hard sometimes. You have to run alot more, be more physical and you have to learn how to play defense as well. I switched from Attack to Midfield my junior year and it was weird having to play defense, but i liked the switch because it opened me up for more scoring opportunities in my opinion. If you're not comfortable playing midfield dont do it, but i think its alot more fun.

do what you think you can make the team with an experienced attack player will make the team over an inexperienced middie

What kind of "better team" are you talking about? If this has to do with JV or varsity, I would talk to your coaches and see what they think, and if they think you should make the switch, ask them what you should start doing to get better at midfield.

(same thing is going on for me only middie to attack. freshman middie, but varsity HAPPENS to need a natural lefty on attack)

I'm only 13 so I'm not in high school yet. I'm talking about from a B team to like an A team.

Yeah dude, like i said before, dont sweat it. just play what you're comfortable with even if it means not making the "good" team, and once you get in highschool, youll have some good experience and then you can worry about making the better team there.

i'd say attack since you're already playing it. unless you can run up and down the field repeatedly, chase after ground balls in between offensive/defensive half while running from half to half, play solid body defence, and again run up and down the field non stop, stick to attack. most of the attackmen on my team when they go play some midfield can't because they can't play solid defence or run more than 80 yards back and forth. personally i like playing attack as you get more chances to score and burning a long stick if so much better than a short stick. on the plus side on middie you get to play defence, face-off, and it looks cooler when you see a middie blow past every defender while running coast to coast.

personally i love middie and im big and physical and all. idk about switching back to mid that could be tough trying to learn like a whole new aspect of the game to play defense and take a beating... idk... do what u like or else wat ur better at...

i would say which ever1 you can play the best and get the most attention out of it. if ur really good at attack then stick with it
if ur good at middy and its a better oppurtunity thenplay middy.

yeah bud i am having the same exact situation just a little different i am pretty fast but i am smaller. I have a nice shot but i just can't seem to do great on middie. when i play attack it just comes easier. I have a choice play middie and make varsity or play attack and play jv. I leaning towards attack because it just like it better

well i was playing defense my whole lax career till i moved to NH. in my age group there was only two extra subs for the whole team, but whore team was stacked. i was moved up to middie due to that i could run and i loved it. it was alot harder but i loved it. i would say you will get alot better playing on the A team on middie.. think about it..

I say play middie. You will get to play with better people, and its pretty for a middie to switch to attack later on if you need to.
