hey guys, not that anyone cares
but im 17 and 245 lbs. i played football, wrestled, and lacrosse my freshman year
my sophomore year i skipped football for wrestling, but i slipped a disk in my back halfway. i went through to completing the season and even played lacrosse. It is my junior year and only sport i do is lacrosse. My back hurts from time to time, and i was wondering if anyone knew maybe if it was my size? 6'1. But im in good shape? Anyone think this is a problem. If i was to loose wieght would my pains decrease?

Go see a doctor. No one on here is qualified to answer your question.

To answer your question, yes losing weight would help in more ways that one. Being overweight could have even made your back worse (after the injury) and may have even caused your back to heal a lot slower. Being heavy (unless you have the build for it for example being like 6'5 or something) can mess up your body. It can really mess up your knees, back, ankles, hips and basically anything you could think of. I really suggest you lose some weight, not only for health reasons and for you body's sake but being overweight just is not good for you. It also could help with your overall performance as a lacrosse player, especially with your speed and even endurance (since you don't have to carry around the weight).
(on a side note: I would have sited my sources but this is pretty common knowledge plus I know a little bit about this subject personally).
Oh and ya LM16 is right, go to your doctor and get your back checked out. We really cant help with other than giving you our opinions.

Well i dont know how much weight i can loose. During the wrestling season we get certified for a weight. This is the lowest posible healthy weight, and i was certified for 230. And i have always been scared of going to the doctor in fear of that he will say "sorry boy, you cant do sports anymore"

Well its better than permanently hurting yourself. Go see a doctor, go through rehab, and get your back better.

Better then showing up after a game and the doctor saying, "sorry boy, you can't walk anymore."
