Since lacrosse just started booming in the south... the lacrosse players from up north tend to be better...since they have played long and have been exposed to it much more (in general)... I know the best team from my state went to like a New York or like New Jersey tournament and got killed....My question to you is that do people from the south even have a chance at getting into a D1 school? do the recruiters even come to southern high schools?

if you could help me understand the situation a bit more i would apriciate it...thanks a lot everyone

Yeah Bro, If you really good. You'll get noticed. I'm from VA. I know most of these guys but they all got recruited from VA...

Will Fields - Navy [went to middle school with me lol]
J.D. Harkey - UMBC
Matt Kowamoto - Ohio State

And then I know some others who go to Division Ia schools and stuff..

Theres always hope if your good enough bro.
and theres nothin wrong with DIII either.. I'm playing DIII next year.

Wow, yeah. Southern lacrosse has a bad rep for not being too great simply because it's so new here. I k am personally not going to college simply to play lacrosse. If anything, it'll be the other way around. I will probably join the college club team, but focus more on academics.

Umm, I think it's a lot harder to get noticed down here, as most recruiting is done in the North. Don't let that discourage you though. If you are good, contact the colleges you like, and let them know you're interested.

We do have a chance in getting into D1, you just have to bust your butt a lot harder to get past those amazing Northerners that basically pop out of the womb cradling their sticks.

I know its crazy. Northerners were born with lacrosse sticks in their hands and get a much better rep... we dont cus were sooo new. honestly though i think colleges are starting to notice cus its getting huge down here (nothing compared to over rated football though). I know this one camp where the coaches from hopkins team and some of the star players make a trip to GA to make a summer camp, but i still dont think any recruiters come down here....... so what your saying is that i should contact the coaches??? and work super hard of course... also i am going to school for academics too not for lacrosse but i was hopeing to get into a good lacrosse school. There isnt a big future in the lacrosse playing industy anyway...unless your amazing... pro players get payed like nothing... keep the post coming any other comments and thanks for the help you two
