I am a youth coach and looking for some warm up stretching/plyometric excersises for my team to use this year. If anyone has any ideas please comment, I coach U13 boy's and U9 girls, the boys is more what I am looking for seeing the girls are soo little and flexible I just stretch them out a little. Thanks.

have them do a lap and then stretch, but make sure they cover everything. Legs, arms, neck, back, etc.

As far as plyos goes, you can do lunges, butt-kickers, mud-walk, skips, karaoke, shuffles, etc. If you want a more detailed list and explanation, shoot me a pm and ill help you out.

pvlax02,
When do you recommend stretching, after the lap or after exercises or after practice?
Is it easy for you to email me your plyos in detail?
Thanks

lap it up
high knee pull
high knee run
ankle pull
butt kickers
lunge
straight leg (frankenstein)
grasshopers
inchworms (start off in push up position, walk legs up (hands stay stationary), then walk hands out)... I assure you .. they will hate these
then lap it up..water break...

I assitant coach my brothers 5th and 6th grade team. we have them do a lap around the field, then stretch everything out. And then we do form running for about half the width of the field and back. High knees, butt kickers, kareoke, shuffling and poking, lunges, and others. We throw in fun ones once in a while to keep them into it. like army rolls or interpretive dancing. Then we go right into line drills. works pretty well and keeps them stretched and ready to go.
