I have played defense ever since i started playing lacrosse in 5th grade. In 7th grade i played midi for a half a season and i wasnt that bad at face offs. Im a freshman and im going for jv(we dont have a freshman team). I am wondering if this is a wise desicion ive been staying after school everyday and practicing for an hour with a couple of friends ive mainly been working my right hand since im lefty and ive gotten much with my right hand. I have great speed and good stamina. The only problem I am really facing is a very low shot speed, my shot has went down about 5 miles an hour from when i was in 7th grade I think that is because i played defense and just got use to not shooting and not having a good form when i do to, so my shot speed is only 55 and most of my team mates that played midi and attack had a pretty fast shot about 75 and higher. I really need help on getting a higher shot speed. What are some good ways to increase my shot speed from proper form and workouts everything else i think im doing fine with and the reason why im making the switch is because a couple of the juinors told me that i should go for midi to have a better chance and because i great speed and stamina
im 5'10 150 pounds and pretty lean and i max out at 180 benching
i have a gym set in my basement but ive never worked out before all ive done is see how much i can bench with my friends and thats it because of weight limits back in youth football and i want to start working out now to get bigger. as for the work outs im looking for leg based workouts to increase my speed(i run hills in the summer for speed) and leg drive
