Hopkins wins it in a decent game 12-9...my guess is that hopkins dominates TOP with their insane middies running all over princeton

How about making this the same thread for the other Face-Off Classic game aswell.
Syracuse vs. Virginia
I think Hopkins wins the other game, ummm 10-6.

Hopkins wins 10-6, although its a real snoozefest as fundamentals takes control and no excitement is endured.

so this is gonna be a good test for them but i still gotta say hop wins they looked great against albany and proved they were ranked number 1 for a reason and i think they will continue to do that throughout the season

well Johns Hopkins middies arent really syncing up right now(according to me when i watched the game and to QK). and the attack will have to go against the toughest longpolesin the country IMO. Dan Cocoziello leading the defense will be a tough wall for hopkins to break through. i say its Deff low scoring because of the stingy D of Princeton and the fact that i dont think one specific person for Princeton will step as the primary goals scorer. But that for princeton i think will maybe hurt Hopkins unlike UAlbany did. UAlbany relys alot on Cory Small and Hopkins shut him down and they shut Jordan Levine for the most part. But Princeton in thier last game 8 players scored a goal and 12 people got at least one point. im going to say Princeton FTW.
EDIT: forgot the C'use game. uhh it will be a fun game to watch with the run and gun style that Virginia plays and thier athletic middies with 'Cuse's physical play(like they were aginst army) and just like Army, VA will take advantage of EMO's. But it wont matter because syrasue will come ou the victors IMO in a pretty exciting game at 14-12

princetons goalie is sooo good
I think he will make a ton of saves but Hopkins will pull away with it 8-5

As much as I respect what princeton's D can do, I think Hopkins has a chance of finally running away with it.
Princeton's midfield let Canisius's midfield score 5 goals on them. How do they expect to contain Rabil, Peyser, etc?!?!?! :concerned

Rabil and Peyser were almost non-exisitant on offense the Albany game. I hope they realized that they are the big $$ guys for the Jays this year and step up to meet our expectations...Ha
Princeton's D will be good and their goalie is underrated...
Close game 17-14 Hopkins.

Im seeing alot of predictions in the teens. You guys realize this is the Hopkins-Princeton forum and not the Cuse-Virginia one right? 10-6 Hopkins, Rabil and Kimmel step up huge.

I have to agree with Laxer1241, Laxer6 and Steg-man ... I'm still struggling with the Blue Jays' struggle in this game last year. It was a classic, but you put Hopkins in front of 20,000 fans and they usually rise to another level. I think the maturation of this team -- from endline to endline -- since the last Face-off Classic will be evident this time around. Saw this team go through their mid-season slump last year and emerge as national champions, and could almost see the improvement game by game. Alex Hewit and company will make it interesting, but I see Hopkins pulling away in the second half. A 10-6 final score in this series is almost a runaway. I think Hopkins may even do a little better ...
Johns Hopkins 12-7

Alex Hewit is underrated? i don't think that is farther from the truth...
i also don't think there is anyway Alex Hewit gives up more that 11 goals and that's the reason princeton is taking it 11-7 riding the back of the Defense shutting down Hopkins and Alex Hewit showing why he is one of the best goalies in the country
Wow, who else thinks princeton looks ridicuolsly good looking?

Are you serious? I hope they lose just because of those stupid helmets. I like the jerseys but those helmets make them look stupid

Each of hopkins middies have scored a goal so far. Hopkins winning 3-0

5-0 end of the first quarter
hopkins is looking really good
Hopkins is up 5-0 end of the first. Everything is going great for hopkins. There winning face-offs, getting groundballs, causing turnovers, nice ball movement. They look unstopable. The defense is keeping princeton outside and collapsing really well when they drive. Gvozden only has about 3 saves but they were nice. The offense has a rythm and looks great. it's insane. Hopkins WILL repeat.

Princetons goalie isnt looking like #1 material right now, even though hes going up against the likes of peyser, rabil and kimmel.

I just found espnU and im on pacific time but i think tigers are going to come back and sting the jays. But i am always for the underdog!!
no way Princeton doesn't have the offensive ability to create a come back.
Hopkins scores on the EMO huntley rocket up top. 6-0
Gvozden is definately my favorite goalie. He makes all the saves he should and alot of ones he shouldn't hes so quick and his reactions are insane. And his shot/save recovery is instantaneous. He looks very calm and cool.
Miller makes it 7-0. Gvozden makes a great stop Miller takes it up field and scores top shelf. 9:30 left in the 2nd
LaxIzKool
03-01-2008, 02:38 PM
Never mind that goal miller scored its getting pretty ugly now!
Wow talk about getting ugly. Rabil scores again. Hopkins up 8-0
Princeton scores 8-1. On the EMO Rocket shot. Gvozden got a peice of it but it bent his stick over and went in.
jeez huntley again hop up 9-1
wow, definately not boring because of low scoring. It's boring because hopkins is destroying princeton. End of the 1st half 10-1 Hop. the 10 th goal was off a fast break to boyle on the crease.

Ha... I believe Hopkins is up 8-0 with 8 minutes to go in the 2nd quarter. That dude let up a terrible goal in first the 30 seconds of the game too... and that seems to have sunk any confidence he may have had.
I'm aware that he was a 2nd team AA from last year as well as a player with one of the best save percentages around... maybe a bit full of himself?? Right now Gvozden is making the big time saves and Hewitt looks like a noob.

It wasnt completely his fault his defense was playing pretty bad all day. Plus if the offense could have held on to the ball he wouldnt have had to face as many shots as he did.

I was watching this game at lunch in a restaurant but what I saw is; Hopkins plays Memorial day weekend and Princeton not only is behind Cornell, but may struggle to be number 2 in the Ivy. They looked dreadful and frankly the least athletic of the four teams playing today BY A LOT!
