So my school buys chl2s for the lacrosse program and at the end of last year i got one of the bn ones to use for summer winter and fall play and now i have to give back a helmet that has a cracked chin piece and the top visor part that is interchangable has like four breaks/cracks in it. Now I play goalie but never the less.
I dont have to pay for the damages but if I owned this helmet i'd cry that by the end of 3 casual leagues and one clinic that my helmet is basicaly dead.

So why would cascade intentionaly make such a poor quality helmet?

I dont think they made the helmet intentionally thinking it was going to break on their customers. They were just trying to make a mid-range helmet for those that cant afford are werent interested in buying a more expensive helmet. I dont think any self respecting lacrosse company makes equipment intentionally bad and flawed.

I suspect its simply so you have to buy another one. No one makes products that won't break, otherwise they'd go out of business.

Its called planned obsolescence. Basically, the company makes an item, knowing full well that everyone will buy it, then releases a new, better version after they have made a substantial profit. A good example of this is apple. Have you ever noticed how they release new ipods, macbooks, etc, often? Its to make people want to always have the newest, best version. Think about it. Is the nano really any different from the first nano? Not really, outside of its aesthetics. It does what its supposed to do, but its newer. However, I cant really see Cascade doing that. Like m2daRizzle said, they dont intentionally make it bad, they were just trying to make a helmet at a price point that people who didnt want or need a cpx or pro7 could afford.

Anyway, thats the end of my economics lesson for today.

Cascade warranties their helmets for 1 year, unconditionally. If the helmet got busted so quickly, It will be replaced under warranty like broken heads and shafts.

Do you beat up Warrior, Brine, STX, Maverik, and Gait if your head or shaft breaks?

Owned. :chair:

And Its CLH2 not Chl or whatever you said. Cascade doesnt make there helmets with the thought that they will only last 1 year. Or else people would keep getting the warranties, and the company would make no profit. They would at least make their helmets to exceed the warranty, trying to make them asbest as possible. Its harmful to wear a bad helmet. Their not trying to kill you. I think. :nofear:
